Saw this species of hummingbird, along with others, feeding from a hummingbird feeder at an Indian reservation in Southern California.
I love all hummies, so of course I am giving it a positive review!

I love these little hummers. They arrive in Albuquerque in mid-May, and stay around through September. I have feeders up, and love to watch them at the butterfly bush, trumpet vine, and cherry sage, all of which they seem to love. Even when I cannot see them, I can hear them twittering around when I am outside. I could not think of anything to say about them that is not positive. They are delightful.

I enjoy watching these little guys, they are not bothered by us at all. From what I have noticed they prefer to be in pairs, if you see one, there is usually another close behind. They are very territorial, I have one that sits in my tree and guards it like it were Fort Knox, I have seen run off all sorts of birds.
