On the island of Hawai'i, people in rural areas are beginning to raise "moa" or jungle fowl to deal with the Puerto Rican tree frog, or "coqui" that has invaded the wetter parts of the island. The moa is one of the few predators of this invasive alien pest that keeps people awake at night with its screeching. I now have a dozen moa that have dramatically reduced the coqui population on my property.
