Negative
This is a predator - catches prey in mid air. It sounds just like a bee flying - but saw it capture a Carpenter Bee [ much larger than the Robber Fly ] - inject it with the neurotoxin and carry it off to a branch to finish. They -- in my opinion -- are creepy looking !
As long as the prey is in the air, they are fair game ... including beautiful butterflies !
