Austin, Texas - I have this creature on my Better Boy tomato plant. It is small, so in order to see it in detail I photographed it in macro. It damaged the leaf on which I found it; an area about 1" x 3/4" is bleached, thin and papery. Is there any particular way to treat for this spider? I have never encountered it before. I can see why it is called a crab spider -- It raises its legs in threat when approached, just the way that crabs do with their claws.
