Saw one yesterday (first time I can remember) in my newly-framed flower bed. Anything with more than 6 legs gives me the creeps, so I squished it.

I counted about 76 pairs of legs - they're very small. These centipedes can expand and contract their lenghth quite a bit - from maybe two to four inches, and the legs move like a wave down the body as they move forward.
