Positive
aka Lycaenopsis argiolus. Another common name is Spring Azure.
Wing span is 20-30 mm. They have 2 generations a year, with the spring being are smaller size.
Male: wings are a pale sky-blue with checkered fringe. The underside of the wing is a brow-gray and the spring generation also has small darkish spots. Later generations are paler with smaller spots.
Female: top side of fore wings have a darkish gray front and margins with a blue area that fades to white. Hind wings pale blue-gray with dark spots on margins.
Caterpillars: Slug-like and feed on many different flowers and flower buds, including Dogwood, Milkweed, Spirea, Viburnum, and Willow. They like a rich moist woodland habitat and range from the east to west coast, from t... read more
