Each summer we have found a number of these scorpions inside our house (in Williams, Western Australia). They startle easily and look aggressive but no-one has been stung yet!

We find these hiding in the garden (and on the bottom of our shoes!) They are a little scary because they try to sting the moment they are disturbed. Neighbors have been stung. It was very much like a bee sting. They went to the hospital because they had never heard of these small ones and were only familiar with the poisionous ones from the American southwest. Some concern about a pet being stung.

The Wood Scorpion is quite common in Victoria, Australia, often found under the bark of Eucalyptus trees. We find them occasionally in our garden and a couple have even turned up in the house recently. I am sure that they have an unpleasant sting, but have not heard of anyone being stung and so have no information on how bad it is.
