This bee flew up wifes pant leg and stung her 13 times in the upper thigh. Possibly protecting something, Just wanted to worn people they do bite/sting and apparently can bite muliple times.Howerver this coud be a mason green bee too ... not sure but they HURT ..

Pretty, and not aggressive at all. My two year old daughter sat on their hole and they just buzzed around until she moved. If it had been yellow jackets she would have been stung. They do seem to love echinaceas!

Good little pollinators, the Green Metallic Bees are also known as Sweat Bees.
They live in colonies underground and carry pollen back to the nest. The adults drink nectar and the larvae feed on nectar and pollen.
Commonly found in meadows and gardens from Quebec to Mexico east of the Rocky Mountains.
