Apparently has a nasty, painful bite, comparable to a bee or wasp sting. Definitely a critter to stay away from.

Must admit this is a scary looking spider. But if it eats grasshoppers that's a big plus for me. Still wouldn't want to find this one in my house! Guess it's pretty in an eerie way.
Saw the reference to Creeping Charlies...you'd think they would've called them Creeping Johnnies since they are Johnsoni.
And yes, only after I'd taken my photos and got online to ID it did I read about the painful bite and that they really do jump...and I was right up in its face taking photos! YIKES!
