I came across this lovely insect and was trying to figure out just where in the world it was to be found and when I saw you were in Australia, it answered my question. I experienced my first 17-year locust (Cicada) invastion last year in Pennsylvania, and to say the least, it was very noisy. They are black color with little red eyes and when they die, the light goes out in their eyes, but your little chap is really interesting. Would love to see more Aussie insects. Thanks so much.
