Digger Wasps are good insects to have in the garden. This specific species preys on grasshoppers, crickets and cockroaches.

It digs a burrow where it deposits several insects along with it's eggs. The developing larvae then feed on the captured insects.

Common across North America, many Digger Wasp species are quite common.
