This is a large Cicada, found in south-east Australia. It has a fascinating range of colour forms and although I have only so far seen three of them I was lucky enough to see three different colours. These are all given picturesque names, so that the commonest form the all green one is known as the Greengrocer, the near yellow form is known as Yellow Monday, and the one I have just met is the delightful Masked Devil, being green with a black mask and dark blue abdomen. The other two forms I have yet to see are the two rarest. There is a dark tan form known as the Chocolate Soldier and finally and rarest of all a turquoise blue form known as the Blue Moon.
