I have found their caterpillars on Virginia Creeper foliage and adults feeding on Datura and Ipomoea alba flower nectar here in Albuquerque. They aren't abundant and I don't mind the damage as the adults are extremely attractive and very entertaining to watch at dusk, bobbing drunkenly amongst the Datura flowers with their long probosci dangling.

Host plants are grape, ampelopsis brevipedunculata, and Virginia Creeper, all in the grape family. This photo is the brown form, more common in late summer-early fall. The green form is more common in spring-early summer.
