This caterpillar was found eating poison ivy! He had eaten almost all of the leaves off of a vine we've been having trouble getting rid of, that keeps growing on a cedar tree. Next to the poison ivy is some virginia creeper too, however, this caterpillar was eating the poison ivy leaves and not the virginia creeper. We thought that was pretty unusual.

Now I know what has been eating my Virginia Creeper foliage. They are easy to take a photo of because they don't like to fly in the daylight hours. They are quit large. The one I posted was 4 1/2" wide.
