I saw hundreds of these on one of my trees this Spring. I was concerned it was hurting the tree but it didn't. Then when it got hot they all disappeared. I had never seen them here before.

I found about eight to ten of these bugs amongst leaf litter in a flower bed, and crawling up the base of a Schefflera tree. It's nice to know they are "good" bugs, but the little anole lizards were feeding on them ... that food chain thing I guess!

We 'caught' them eating a bee and a ladybug. So it's hard to be all in favor of them as predators since their appetite does not suit us!
