We came from here:

Here are some more blooms on my small clematis garden among other shrubs to the front of the border. Spring is the best time to enjoy these beautiful blooms:

Zoom out a little bit of the small area that we're looking at:

Beautiful Lily_love! I liked that you zoomed out a bit so that we could get a bigger view. We always tend to zoom in to get close up shots of our beautiful Clematis, but neglect to take the rest of our garden! I know that I'm guilty of this!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

LOL, Shirley zooming in...like this? LOL

I know, I know I posted this for Gary on the other thread. But General Skikoski is too pretty to leave out:

Other combo: Miniature rose 'Ballerina' among clematis. The wave of clematis is cooling down. Hopefully the second wave of (clematis) blooms will come along soon.

Kim your gardens a beautiful. Borrowed a camera from a friend so some pics soon. My Clematis are not that beautiful this year as the cold snap hurt them a little. My New Dawn rose is covered in buds it will be beautiful.
I want to live in your garden. LOL

Gary

Delaware, OH

NC friend. glad to hear new dawn is a good rose. i put in 4 of them in the garden pictured above the other day (N fence E clem garden)
was wondering if it was a good one . i am a rose novice and not that interested except for clem trellis effect and lovely blooms. but always have winter deaths, but slowly getting more to survive...so spliurged on the new dawns the other day...if you have them it must be a good one.

Andrews, NC(Zone 6a)

They are great to have. Bloom beautifully and are resistant to most ailments.

NC friend, so glad i got new dawn. wow. hope mine look like that. si that a weeping cedar of some sort behind the texensis princess di? looks amazing.
are those forget me knots to the right of clem?
you are in a great zone for clems and all sorts of things!

can't wait till my diana (planted last fall) comes on.

Andrews, NC(Zone 6a)

Guru,
Yes that is a 20 year old weeping blue Cedar. to the right of Di is a dwarf cedar and spiderwort.

Delaware, OH

ooh, love those weeping cedar. i bet that is a great tree. love evergreens of all types. love spiderwort too!
pretty, and di is a showstopper. i put di to the right of rubromarginata, on the left of rubo is etoile rose, (verysimilar to di) there is a ville de lyon and price charles in the group and i just put a beata in the group also. she is to the r with di.
last fall when i put di in she promptly took a nap, but is back looking fine this spring..those texensis can be tricky so i was glad to see her early this spring.
love love love your weeping cedar!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Love, love Princess Di. Thanks Gary for sharing the wonderful pictures of your garden with me. ^_^

CG, I'm fancied to get Princess Di interplanting with 'Frankie' alpina clem. I'm looking to get a pink and blue theme. Will it work? I've heard that alpina clem. may not fair well in the hot/humid South? What's your thought on this?
I've an arbor here to the side of the house where I feature Blue Sky Vine in the Fall, I thought I may squeeze the two mentioned clems onto the structure.

i do think alpinas need a dormant winter to flourish and to live a long time. but , there are always exceptions and i do not know a lot about warmer zones.
however, in this zone an alpina blooms early, as it is a p1...blooms on old wood and a texensis blooms late in hot weather, so they would not bloom at same time. however, things are different down your way.

there are so many clems that are not hardy where i am at and flourish in your zone, maybe you can get some things that will be amazing in your zone, evergreen clems etc. do you have many of those?

things di looks good with are perle de azure, price charles, etoile violette, fujumesume, lady betty balfour, belle nantaise, perrins pride would be lovely.
that di is s o pretty. i put on ein last year, but have mature etoile rose, which is very similar with some of the ones i just mentioned.

Some rebloomers this morning:

Thanks CG for your thought on that.

Thumbnail by Lily_love
Delaware, OH

your garden look so refreshing lily love. hope you get a lot of reblooms. i do not get them unless i prune as blooms wane in size and quantitiy, not when completely finished blooming and also fertilize at that time.
some folks don't have the heart for this, but it is what gives me a second flush worth mentioning vs a few late season blooms.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Thanks CG, I'm contemplating on pruning my Earnest Markham this year and fertilize as suggested.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Okay, I'm going to share a beautiful pix of the clematis et al flower bed to the front of my garden. Next I'll share a few pictures of my hybrid's clematis seedling's flowers. The seedlings flowers are not as showy, but for me, it's darling since I have followed it progresses from seed to flowers -- that took place over a couple of years.
Edit for typos

Sorry the quality of the picture is not great. To top it off, once has got to be straining your eyes in search of the tinsy little bit flower buds, hint hint. The color is purple. (The large leathery leaves in the vicinity belongs to 'Pink Cloud' tree that the vine twins itself upward).

Hope this pix is improved somewhat?

HTH! Evey =)

Delaware, OH

thanks blissful. i see that only one of those is in my previously killed portfolio...golden showers. i will tyr and shop form that list, tho must admit my rose purchases usually involve a "pink, yello, red, white"impulse decision. probably the way non clemmers choose a clem.
thanks for this links, i will try and get a couple of them, got to get more serious about the climbing roses for clem trellis and read somewhere, don't know how credible, that the new dawns i put in are the biggest thorn monsters out there....ouch. got to get thicker gloves if they take off!
thanks for the info, appreciate it.
