What gorgeous pictures all! BeaHive, I'd love to live that close to a display garden like that! I've tried lupine several times, but never had any luck - it likes cool evenings and we never have a summer with cool evenings. My daughter lives in Steamboat Springs, CO and tells me when I visit in a month I'll have lupine envy!
LOL.

LiliMerci,Love the sweet peas, are they really that blue?? or deep purple, any way, beautiful little blooms.
BeaHive,That Lewisia a ways back is absolutely gorgous, does it have a long bloom period?? Also I just noticed we have the same noid purple&white Iris,I have 2 varities of Iris, total of 5 colors, that I saved when the neibors tore down the old house, love the free flowers.
It's a deep purple-ish-blue. It's "King Size Navy Blue". It smells pretty too.
huggergirl. I think I have had my first Lewisia for about 6 weeks . It is still in bloom, but of course not as heavily as when first purchased. The plant is pretty to look at when not in bloom however.
Here is a link about gowing them.

Just started a NEW THREAD

I purchased Lewisia out of curiosity several years ago.
I lost one mound right away due to it staying to wet )bad location choice), but they are a lot like cactus. Don't like their feet standing in water. However.. the one I planted in a container (in cactus medium) is now 6 years old, and while the main plant looks funky...it continues to bloom it's little heart out annually.
lovely highmtn, going to look for the new summer thread!
Bea, that just takes my breath away. Beautiful!
Bea- love your gardens. That is truly my idea of what a cottage garden should look like :-))
Bea, your photos look so inviting! You must truly enjoy your garden!
How absolutely lovely! It should be a postcard!

those daylilies are beautiful Calif_Sue. My mom just came back from San Jose, visiting a friend.
Meadowwyck..
That gorgeous plant with the white flowers looks to be a succulant of some type. I have a close, but not quite one that blooms yellow. I just love it too.
Yours is beautiful! All the photos are gorgeous!
Highmtn
thanks so much.
