Summer Lilies 2008 Part 3

Plymouth, IN(Zone 5a)

llilyfan, I love the dark lilies, Red Raven and Dark Star are both stunning! But when I saw Black Eyed Cindy my jaw dropped! Wow!

Here's two I'm not sure what they are. They're about 4 to 4.5 ft. tall.

Georgia, that shot of Pink Mystery looks pretty darn good to me. :) Country, love that white!!!

Steve, you're just easy when it comes to lilies and peonies and soon hostas. :) LOL

What a nice night shot of Lady Alcie. Reminds me a lot of White Henryi, which is my favorite lily.

Just wanted to tell ya this lurker loves the lillies. I even put my bib on before I come here or go to the DL forum. Too many beauties to comment on, but the clump shot of 'Purple Reign' IS amazing!

countrym, yea that Black Eyed Cindy is something isn't she! I love you unknown white. There is something familiar about the form that is trying to tickle a memory cell in my brain! I love the placement of the blooms on the stems.

jmorth, GREAT shot of Lady Alice, it looks totally different than my Lady Alice and like lincolnitess reminds me of White henryii or Bright Star.

georgiajo, love that pink mystery, I'm trying some orientals this year, haven't had good luck with them in the past, but have made some changes in the gardens and hope to do better with them.

Maxine, great lilies, so glad you are getting to have the beauty in your own yard where you can stroll through and touch if you want to!

nanny, I love that Polkadot Bikini! what size is the bloom and how tall is the lily?

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Sue,
What kind of changes for the Orientals?

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Polka Dot Bikini is about 20'' tall and the bloom is about 31/2'' across.

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

TLC, I put them in a seperate bed, where I can give them a little more TLC. Surprisinly my 2 thriving orientals are in baked areas of the gardens, the only problem there is the blooms burn rather fast.

nanny, do you remember where you got that little girl? I've got to have one!

Olina is sure a nice one. I like Polka Dot Bikini too. Does anyone know who this pink might be/ I received them as a NOID from a DG member about a week ago and she did such a wonderful job of packing them that not one bud fell off and they are acting like they were never moved.

Here's my second clump of Midnight?? Both these 2 bulbs and another one I have in front came from the same co-op. They are pretty no matter who they are and smell wonderful. I like them with the Out of Darkness daylily.

That is a striking combination.

Here's Samur. This is the first time I've grown these LA hybrids. I'm impressed! They're the sturdiest lilies I've grown in my small balcony garden. But these are tall, sturdy stems and blooms.

And here's an NOID. I did NOT order yellow! Doesn't go with my color scheme this year. But they sure are pretty!

These are either NOID asiatic or tiger lilies.
Orange really makes a statement.

They're not my first choices but orange and yellow do look striking in the garden.
