Good morning, everyone.

We have 27º and the barometer is rising. Supposed to get to 40º today and partly cloudy. We have one of those houses that, when the wind blows, like it did last night, the eaves make a cool Halloween sound. It kind of freaks the cats out. ☺

Stay warm. Can't wait for SPRING!!!

These are from last year.

(Zone 7a)

And my guess is Tropopause.

How cute is that?!?!?!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Awwwwww..... :-) (lapsing into baby talk again...)

I'm guessing tropopause, too, Joey. Your flowers are gorgeous, kwanjin! And, as usual, I love your sky shots, Sharon.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! :-) It's a pretty day here. The high is going to be in the upper 60s, with sunshine all day. I need to pop out later and prune the roses. (We only have two, and they're little, so it's not a very onerous task. LOL) The rain will be back tomorrow.

Happy Valentines Day!

Deb........I really like your photo of the trees with the green palms around their bases.

Sharona.........Those people on the beach don't look very warm to me.

It's a beautiful sunny day here in PA. with the temp up to a balmy 27°F. We're looking for a high of 31°F this afternoon. We had single digit temps this morning with fresh snow and a layer of ice on everything from a couple of days ago. It was killing me to go to work on such a photogenic day so by the time I pulled into the lot I sat there for a few minutes, got on the cell phone and took a vacation day. I went to one of my favorite winter sunrise haunts and took a few photos. The mist from the creek was not as good as some other mornings but I still managed to get some fairly decent shots.

(Zone 3b)

E_B~~so glad you were out and about; just beautiful.
KG~Thanks for Valentine wishes. Is it celebrated there? The photo of you and your mother, on another thread, is so nice, as is this one. Very cute.
Kelli~what a sweet name for a goldfish; sounds like it's adorable.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone...
Still in the 30's; I've been outdoors a lot enjoying the fresh clean air as I put away some loose items on the deck~~ no coat needed, either.
Snow likely. Snow accumulation 1 to 3 inches.
Lows in the teens to lower 20s.
East wind 15 to 30 mph shifting to the southwest 5 to 15 mph after midnight.

Marylyn, thanks!

Kiska, very nice embroidery. You'll laugh, but I did practice it, when I was 9.Lol.

May be we sport the old pics' trend on this thread for a while too?

Now it's 24.8F in SPb.
Started snowing!

Joey – That is a saw palmetto. Personally, I can’t stand them. They are everywhere here and extremely difficult if not impossible to get rid of. They are the homes of the “palmetto bug”. Yuck. The plants seem to be fine. Whew! I’m going with A on the trivia as well. JW is Adorable!! He is really concentrating on something!
Marylyn – The “gold” sunset picture shows the intracoastal waterway bridge. It’s the only entrance and exit for the island.
Kiska - That’s a huge jump in temp for you! Feels downright balmy outside, huh?! LOL!
Kelli – About the Santa Ana winds…I thought they occurred only 2-3 times a year, but it seems more often. What causes it…ummm…them?
E_B – That beach picture was taken in November. It’s a little cool for the natives especially when we get a Nor’easter blowing through. I think you would be quite comfortable in those conditions! Your idea of “fairly decent shots” = my idea of “Whoa – beautiful pictures”! And they are background! LOL!
Yuri – I 2nd Marylyn – Your Mom was beautiful and I love the background.
Kiska – Are you going to sell your treasures on-line? I love the glass heart!

Yikes - must get the succulents covered. I don't want to take the chance of 2 nights of minor freezes for my babies.

I have a couple of pictures to post...this is White Ghost and it's bloom (which is a little stinky)

Kwanjin: Your photos really convey a feeling of BRRRR!
Sidney: Thanks for confirming the I.D.
Sharon: Same here. It was supposed to get to just barely 32-33 or so. At 7 am, it was 27! They're saying 33 tonight, so I'm covering stuff. (Love your storm clouds, btw.)
Joey: I can't look an any photo of JW without saying "Awwwww!"

Kiska: Golly it's warm there! That's more like April or May temps for you isn't it?
E_B: Thanks. I've run out of superlatives to describe your photos.
Geroge: Very pretty mom! I love old photos.

I came home early from work today. Seems I've caught the flu that's been going around. :( It was a lovely afternoon, mid 60s, but I slept through it.

Hope everyone is having a very happy Valentines Day!

PS/Here ya go, George. My big brother on the beach, 1953. :)

Millersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

Happy Valentine's Day. We had temps up to 36 degrees and the ice coating on everything melted. Was glad to see it dropping from the power and other lines. Our oil tank if full again and we are comfortable.

Must have had a zillion birds at the feeders today as everything is coated in ice - just like in EB's photos. I refilled them 2 times.
That warm golden sunshine lifted our spirits and made for a very happy valentine's day here at home.

Los Angeles, CA(Zone 10a)

Sharon, Deb, Thank you!

Here's my Big brother with my Mom back in 1953.Lol.

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Deb - I'll happily send you all the palmettos in my yard if I could get the dang root out! They drive me nuts!
se_eds - I can't imagine filling the bird feeders 2 times in one day. We fill ours about 1 time each week. Your babies are hungry.
Yuri - Where do the steps lead? Nice picture!

New blooms on succulents - still working on the name

Looks like a nice day at the beach, too.
Thanks, Marylyn.
MySharona~we're working on a web-site, but d-mail if there's any questions. Your succulant looks just that; very pretty as are the geranium blossoms.
marsue~love the "old" summer pic; pink flowers are hard to beat.
1953 photos are wonderful, KG and Deb. Must be a huge garden, KG.

Sharon: your succulents never cease to amaze me! Beautiful, indeed.

George and Deb, I love looking at old family photographs, even if they are not my old family! LOL However, I did find this one of my daddy when he was 18 (in 1925) A handsome young man, wasn't he?
