Okay, to be held accountable here is the area I need to clean-up outside, it's so ugly and messy - that is right outside of our eating area in the kitchen, so I would really like to do better - I'll attack tomorrow, it's supposed to be a bit nicer - any suggestions?

my first lupine (the chatelaine) bloom this year, lots more buds showing up, tho...

1-Come over here and I can show you several sides of the house that look much worse

2- Send those giant lilies (what are they?) to me-they are so untidy!

3-Oh yeah, don't forget the clematis, too

I went a bit bulb crazy, so I won't really know what they are until they bloom .... I have some on the other side of the yard that are as tall as I am - I'll post when they bloom... I'm thinking asiatic or stargazer - they grow like weeds here, love the rain. I'd be happy to share some bulbs, they multiply every year!
I think I'll feel better about it when I cut all the twiggy tulip bulb leftovers out, and there is alot of grass sprouting in there as well as clover.

I don't even see any weeds in her garden..lol. Probably some Northwest natives there I wouldn't mind, though. They have some pretty wild gingers in that part of the country.

I haven't tried any ginger yet, I really want too - that's next for me.

Some lupines get gi-normous (thats giant+enormous) but I think this variety is ok... so I hope.

plenty of weeds here. lots of clover right now, the bees love it, so I usually let it stay for a bit.

I am a non-smoker, last time I smoked a cigar was on my wedding day! I used to smoke in my 20's, couldn't possibly do that around the kids.

One thing that is annoying, now that you mention, we don't smoke in the house. Not so bad this time of year but when it is raining and cold.....plus it's expensive....not to mention I have to go to a specialty tobacco store to get mine...

But then I'd have to list the reasons I haven't yet-lol

About 3 weeks ago .
I planted 6 Water Lillies in 3 pots .
This is them so far .

wow Kell, they are growing fast... I have to say my water lily is not doing that super after the raccoon pulled it out of the pot and left it floating in the water... the other plants are growing quickly, I might just need to go buy another water lily,

It's the same pond .
Because of drought , the water is low .

Still looks good even though it's low.

In the next few weeks I am going to clean it out .
And sell 1/2 the fish . ( 340 )

340 ffffffffffff ish ? wow, it does still look great, I sooo would love a pond ..... sigh.

Last year the water was a little cleaner ( rain )
And # 2 son sold more than 300 GF .
They have about 600 babies each .
Some get eaten if there are not enough plants to hide in .

I think I will stick with my 10 tiny goldfish from WalMart! I don't think those will ever grow big enough to have babies. something has been trying to get to them the past day.. spilling gallons of water in the process. I guess I am going to have to get a real pond very soon or lose my plants and fish. It is a 45 gallon 'pop up' pond.. soft sides. LOL the fish don't know what they live in.

They have to be a certain size before they will sporn .

That sure is a very pretty fish.. .. it could easily eat one of mine.

Here's a pic of my little tub garden-Basically the lotus was all that was planned-I just throw plants in there and most of them are living. There's a running elephant ear, pitcher plant, lotus, juncus, and bog sage now.

I just have a tub garden as well .. and you're right - I think the fish are happier in that than a fish bowl !! Kell's pond is gorgeous.

I want to get fish but the cats are always messing around in there. They've been fascinated ever since I got the thing. Don't think I could trust them-lol

That is why I buy the .28 cent goldfish at WalMart! ... CATS! The neighbor has 4 of them. My cat stays away from the pond and is rarely outside unless the dogs and I are out there too. she once looked at the pond... sat up and touched the water.. that was it, she was gone and won't go near it now. Great .. now if I could just train the neighbors cats but they come in when no one is around.

the pond was fine this morning... score 1 for me. I caught a bunch of baby toads last night. They are on the move as of last sunday... thousands of them everywhere. Maybe some will survive in my yard and by the time they are old enough to breed, I will have a real pond in place... small space but I want it there.
