Here in Brisvegas they are on stage 5 water restrictions .
That means 140 liters of water per person per day .
And garden watering by bucket only .
Stage 5? Whew. That's when I would give up on non-natives and go native. Little to no watering needed then. lol

That's my main goal here. Wildflowers and other plants that are almost impossible to kill. so far it is daylilies, irises, peonies, sedum, wildflowers, and so far my astilibe is doing great. That's the gist of it. The others need some watering at least with the can to help it out. Just a few though. lol.
We have never had water restrictions here but have come close a few times. I am embarassed to say... I calculated it ... I watch my water bill very closely...I currently use about 800 liters per day for the house, washing myself, the dogs and the yard... it gets as high as 2,500 liters per day in the hottest part of summer because of my yard. Everything here would be completely dead if I could only use 140 liters per day for everything.. I truly admire anyone who can manage that!
I do at least 1 load of laundry per day in just the dogs blankets for laying around and sleeping and pads that they use indoors when they don't ask to go out.
My hat is off to you.... and I would be interested in the water conservation measures people take to live on that amount.. sounds very interesting and challenging.

That is the cutest roo picture I've ever seen.
And I've never seen berries on a ginger!
The berries were on wild ginger in the middle of a 23 Kilometres walk .
Not the sort of place you can take visitors to in a real hurry .
So I take lots of Pics . So others can see the beauty of our wilderness .
I wonder if long long ago our fore fathers
denuded the landscape of these beauties .
And now they can only be found in out of reach places ?
I really doubt any of mine will ever have them, but it does look neat. Guess that's where people get seeds from.-duh
When we walk / climb we see the most incredible plants .
The only things we leave behind is our foot prints.
And the only thing we take away is Photographs .
You know it never occurred to me to take a few of those seeds .

Ah ginger - got it! No, I don't find cheeks offensive (unless there is alot of dimpling, if you know what I mean! -lol It's very good, is that sketched on glass? Tell me what you did.... I'll be back in an hour or so - my son Vincent wants to go on an "Adventure Walk" he's ready - he just walked in with his bottle of water and tin of poker chips and said he's ready- lol he is very funny,...... and prepared! .. just in case a game of blackjack comes up on our walk through the trail... those squirrels are big bluffers. catch ya later.
