Talk about crazy weather!

Right now at the beach in Northern SC.it 48 degrees! It was the same yesterday. This is in the shade. When the sun comes up high enough to clear the trees it will be warm though the forcasted temps won't be more than low 70's.

We were in the 90's during Easter weekend and in Boone NC.it was 80 on Easter Sunday.

I love this weather.I have so much energy. This is how it is most of the time in the NC.mountains during the summer but not here at the beach.

Love your Irises
Nancy

Great iris shot Sidney. We've got a mild heat wave going on here (considering it jumped from cold and rainy one week to upper 80's the next) . Time to start getting into summer gardening routine, out in the garden at 6:30 or 7 to be done by the time it starts to get warm, about 11am.

Had beautiful weekend weather, perfect for annual Clovis Rodeo and perfect for a garden 40th anniversary party a friend and I gave for dear friends. Will post some pics later from the garden.

Beautiful photos Sugarweed!
Had a good inch of rain yesterday and too wet to pull any weeds today. Ran out to see the Grandson instead who grows like a weed.

Great pic Billy, hang on to that one.

It may be May but it feels more like early April today.
Low 43 F, high 53, currently 45. It started out sunny but a large ocean storm is backing in on us, cloudy now.
A strong NE wind at 20 MPH gusting to 33.
Light rain is predicted for the next 2 days.
We could use the rain, I'm back to watering the gardens, again.

Here is a pic of Weeping Pussy Willow I snapped yesterday.
Interesting texture.

your green thumb you have with your flowers!!! 1
We have received anywhere from 2 to about 4 inchs of rain around our area of Missouri the past few days. Everything is so green and nice now. Today was sunny and just plain beautiful outside with a high around 70 degrees.

Andy - love your shots - you have some very good photographic skills.

May Day was quiet and calm above the big cities. We rejoiced in doing our own work and enjoying our gardens. Everything is growing well and more plants arriving daily to be planted. Life is good. Enjoy the journey.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Billy, Se_eds, Thanks.
My "skills" mostly come from PhotoShop I think. The "unsharp mask" feature makes a BIG difference.

That light rain that was forecast for last night gave us an inch of welcome rain.
It's just drizzle now with the same predicted for the next 36 hours. Maybe we can turn that into another inch (fingers crossed).
Still have that strong East wind coming off the Atlantic, water temp is in the mid 40s so our temp is about the same. Cold and dreary.
The high fire danger has been reduced, lots of brush fires lately.

Here is a pic of a 'wild' flowering small tree in the yard, don't know what it is.
I keep it because of the fragrant Spring color. There are 2 of them in a brushy area.

Adorable picture, Billy! Nice pictures everyone else, too. Andy, your wild tree might be a crabapple. There were some that grew in the brushy growed-up vacant lot behind my parents' house. They had pink flowers like that and smelled so good. I don't recall the new leaves looking reddish, but maybe I just don't remember.

Heavy overcast with no chance of rain, which is June weather.

Well, there is NO rain forecast in my lifetime!!!! Not really, it just seems that way. It isn't climbing up into the 90's yet, but boy is that sun hot! Look how high the UV's are and that low humidity. This kind of weather turns grapes into raisins and me into a wrinkled prune!

Great iris picture, Janet. I love irises.

The rain is probably done here for the year - well, technically, not the year, but until late fall. We've got that cloudy June-like weather again today. Usually it doesn't bother me because it means one less day that gets hot, but we've had so much cloudy weather in March and April that I'm ready for some sun.

It feels a little warmer than 59F. I'd say it feels more like 65F. It feels about the same indoors. It's that crazy time of year when you run the furnace for a few minutes in the morning because the downstairs is chilly, and then run the air conditioner for a couple cycles in the evening because the upstairs gets stuffy after the sun comes out.

Sunny, puffy clouds here and there. I've come in for lunch and a chance at DG - the promised serviceman did NOT show up this morning. But service is up for now.

The joy in the face of the boy with the pony is precious. All the garden pics caused envy here. So I went out looking for a photo to take. And ended up power spraying my roses for aphids - and taking a swipe at the car with the spray. Here's my Pleasure rose bush about to pop into full blossom with the locust all decked in white behind her.

Kelli,I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't getting any more rain till fall.
70* and 3/10'' rain this morn, (I feel guilty.) Cloudy and cool. Have 1 4/10'' since Monday. We also started with 2 sizes of mosquitos yesterday afternoon.
Oh, Blooms with a very nice view, beautiful roses! Thanks, that little boy is a happy one!

Same as yesterday, here.
A lighter wind but still cold and wet. 45 F mist and light rain. Got another half inch of rain so there is a silver lining here.
It's amazing what a bit of rain can do. I looked out this morning and the GREEN almost knocked me over.

Kelli, Nope, not a Crabapple. It never has fruit and like you said, the red baby leaves don't match Crabs.
There is a big Bobwhite Crabapple in the yard ready to bloom, wait till you see that one. It survived the building of the house 20 years ago. It's waiting for a warm sunny day to open, maybe Friday.
Here is another pic of the mystery tree.

Edited to comment on the pics.
Irises, what lovely colors. Mine will look plain compared to those.
Oranges, those are in the fridge, LOL.
Roses, be sure to post another pic when they in full bloom.

Well I just got the time to look at all these wonderful pictures and I must say they are just beautiful. Janet your Irises are just about perfect and I too like the sway of your bed. Kelli That weeping iris is elegant and your citrus loaded!!
Blooms these are the the delicious scents and smells of the desert.
And Andy some crabapples are non-bearing, those pictures are beautiful.
I am just impressed with how showy Spring is being.
Our temps got to 90º this afternoon. My car read 94!

The curved bed is along a driveway and they are really beautiful this year. They're blooming later because of the wet and cold spring we've had. Here's a couple I really like, names escaping me at the moment, but the colors I love. Sorry for the shadows as the sun was directly overhead when I took them, but you get the idea.

Coolor today, staying in upper 70's and all summer veggie plants are going in today.

Thundershowers threatened for this afternoon and evening never showed up. Plants are growing - am watering radishes and seedlings LOL. High in the mid 80's, sun and light cloud cover. No rain in the forecast until possibly next Wednesday. Sounds like last year all over again, except the drought started in March instead of April.
