Kelli, Nope, not a Crabapple. It never has fruit and like you said, the red baby leaves don't match Crabs.
There is a big Bobwhite Crabapple in the yard ready to bloom, wait till you see that one. It survived the building of the house 20 years ago. It's waiting for a warm sunny day to open, maybe Friday.

Irises, what lovely colors. Mine will look plain compared to those.
