Thought while I was sitting in airport I’d move us over

We came from here

https://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1565728/

Getting hungry, had a coffee and bagel at 9am, mouth watering thinking of my meal at Cracher Barrel, Sharon and I were disappointed with breakfast last time we were there, hope not the case tonight

Susan, glad your hitch is on & you are ready to roll.

Betty, I hope Cracker Barrel does not disappoint you this time! My brother had looked into opening one of their franchises here in TC. He died at 52, so we never knew if he would have, given more time.

I fell a couple of days ago & still have some "lovely" bruises & abrasions, I had shut off the light in my bedroom, walked to the swivel recliner, put my hand on the arm rest and went to sit down,,, OOPs. I was wrong about WHICH arm of the chair I had my hand on! LOL I landed hard on the floor, tweaked my collarbone a little, scrapped the elbow. The bruise on my left butt cheek is a beauty! As my mom would say "Feels so good when it stops hurting!" Maybe in the future I will be smart enough to use my remote and shut off the light FROM my chair?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg, you could have so easily broken a hip..we are hard on ourselves arent we. Being in new bedroom wouldn’t hurt either, you will have to get a night light and yes, use remote.I have a remote for the light/fan over my bed, am sure I’d take some falls as well, especially seeing i take sleeping pills and get up 3-4 times at night, i sleep with tv on so that offers some light. Your brother was so young when he passed. I still don’t have an appetite, ordered their fried chicken, ate a drumstick and a hot roll, have a take home container that likely will last a week if I don’t forget it when I leave tomorrow.

Of course Cracker Barrel has the cutest girl outfits, 1st time I can shop for a granddaughter, was fun.. even got sunglasses for Greg’s golfing buddy lol

Time to sleep

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh goodness! This is your first granddaughter, how wonderful!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes Pat, I had 2 boys, they each had 2 boys, then Kyle my grandson gave me my first great grandson so truly blessed getting Hope, she is a little Angel, don’t we all say that lol

We are all awake, just laying here, soon to get up…
after breakfast we will make a few stops, i did run in and got some fabric at Joann’s but couldn’t look around so will stop there.
I’m thinking of making Roman Blinds for kitchen and for door window so need the round plastic rings, ever make them? How are you today?

Deb how are you, struggling to get around?

Dianne, you and the TH ok

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about your fall Pat. I have done that too. Praying your not too sore.
Betty, hope you found the fabric you are looking for, and then some. I love joanns. Our hobby lobby hear just rearranged the store, and they have very little fabric.
Support be 103 today. Going to be a day to sit and sew.

Just found out today, the cataract surgery did not fix my stigmatism, so I will still need glasses. My vision is very clear, but when I went in this morning for my follow up, I couldn't see the small letters on the chart.

Home, just filled tub, have eats from Cracker Barrel then it will be bed time

Did find fabric, bought curtain fabric for kitchen and door window..going to get more modern.

Suzanne bought me a lovely fall pillow

Sorry to hear about the stigma Lindakay, bet you are disappointed. Can you wear the glasses you had?

How are you today Pat

Victoria Harbour, ON

This is the curtain fabric I bought not quite sure which is the right way. I’ve put it with the round knob on top and on the bottom and they both look good so I guess it’s a matter of preference what do you think?

These are the little outfits for hope aren’t they cute

Suzanne bought me a full pillow. Hate to put it away but it’s a little early to keep it out. 😜

Aren’t these outfits adorable, Hope will look adorable in them I am sure

Pat - I hope you're not too sore. so right that you could have broken a hip or something.
103F - yup, that's about the temps we've been getting here. I hope you have lots of sunscreen & a/c
Betty - those outfit are adorable. As for the curtains, the way you're showing them with the curlicues on the bottom seems right to me. AUTUMN? Awwww pls don't rush the season lol

I got some good court news. I'd applied to serve Bob the papers to appear in court Aug 7th myself. Nope, the court will serve him. This appearance is to sever Divorce from Property Settlement. So, nothing to do but show up on the 7th.
btw - I reported Bob I think I told you, on Thursday. Well, a neighbour of his, and friend of mine, reported that he's moved back into the senior's apartment he had moved out of to move in with his g/f down the street from me. I have a sneaky feeling that they held him for a couple of days because he breached the Peace Bond with his g/f (no contact until the end of Oct) & breached the Restraining order with me (being way too close to me, according to the order).

The new Treasurer that took over from me at Wellness is quitting - she's been diagnosed with Dementia and short term memory loss. Poor lady. I know that the Chairperson (Joan) is NOT happy with her, but geeze what's someone with Dementia supposed to do? Oh well, I'M not taking the job back. I really don't care that Joan keeps making snide remarks about the job I did. She has NO idea the extent of the work I did in the 3 positions I was doing. I wish Joan would give a "think" to what Wellness stands for - it's not just crafting & the library. To me, a Wellness group is for mental, physical, social, and spiritual wellbeing.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Linda Kay - sorry that your surgery didn't turn out as expected. Glad you're seeing so well though!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, well almost evening..so muggy out but I’m inside working on projects so A/C is on. Everyone doing ok?

Hope Joan doesn’t con you Susan into taking on the position, i remember all the work you did and that you were exhausted with no appreciation. Did this men ever apologize to you about their attitude re dar board? Or are they using it and pretending it was their design idea?

Bob is lucky that he didn’t give his final notice and would have nowhere to go. How long are restraining orders good for?

Started my day early, had appointment in Penetang at Denturist to try on the waxed version of upper and lowers..seem to fit great but the bottoms seem wobbly but he reminded me when I get them next week I will have to adjust as these are same design as 30+ years ago and the bite I have now I’ve gradually gotten used to them.

Went to Home Depot to get new kitchen faucet, brushed nickel so match handles and hinges. Did some rushing in the rain as Giorgia was coming for m 10-12, as it went she stayed until 12:30. Started playing with curtain fabric pieces I bought at Joanne’s, they were 2 pieces, not a lot of yardage and 70% off, not enough to do the ones I wanted to make but enough for a change.

Just put m y nighty on so I’d be comfy and once I rest for a few hours I will do the touch ups on cupboard frame and call it a day. Tomorrow I will start with sanding the doors.

Drats, just typed what I planned on doing and already I’ve changed my mind..better to push myself for another hour then be done for the day and just relax.

I could get the fabric pieces, trace and cut out Winnie the Pooh fir the baby quilt, that is relaxing is it not?

Susan, that was good news about Bob! Hopefully it was a "Learning experience for him!
Linda, I hope someday when I have eye surgery to have the additional work and correct ALL the visions issues. It does sound like overall it has been a good experience for you.
Betty, I especially like the sunflower print dress & cardigan

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I love all the goodies you got from the U.S. Betty.
No, my old glasses won't work. Vision has drastically changed.
I could have gotten bifocal lenses, but they would have cost me $1000.00 a piece. Medicare only covers regular lenses.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - the restraining order is up to & including May 31, 2025. This Friday I go to court to plead my case about the trespass on May 4th when the Peace Bond ended. On Aug 7th, I'm hoping he agrees to have the divorce separated from the Property Division. It won't hurt him to agree, because then he's free to date or re-marry (but NOT her, until their court order has ended Oct 31 LMAO)!! Yeah, he's lucky that he Didn't give his notice. He's an idiot, but we'd been together for 23 years, and I would hate to see him in dire straits because he is. NOT saying I still care for him - I don't, but I'd hate for that to happen to anyone.

Betty - not sure what you mean about the design of the dart board?!?
Nope, Joan wouldn't think about trying to con me into taking on the Treasurer position again. She knows that I would refuse and it would gall her to ask me to do anything lol I don't think she realizes yet how much good I did, and how difficult it was. She was saying "it's easy" when she tried to get Marilyn to do it - HA! Nope, not easy. Dealing with 3 levels of gov't, and lots of forms. The accountant told her to make ONE phone call to ONE level of gov't and Joan was floored that SHE was being asked to do something lol

LK - sorry that you're having to get new glasses. The cost is why I'm delaying getting my eyes checked. Yup, I know that I need to.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yikes Linda! I have NO insuance for glasses and my progressive correction lenses & frames are well below that.
I'm with you Susan, I would not want anyone on the streets.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sunny out and not as humid, was going to cut the grass nut so wet I will wait.

Susan it was negative comments some men were making..did you not get a dart board installed and had a backing made as well? Can’t wait to hear how the courts deal with these issues. You are right, wouldn’t want to see him walking the streets

Lindakay, I have no coverage for glasses either and need bifocal, Darlene took my script for glasses, and we ordered online using my photo which allowed me to pick the ones I wanted, got progressive bifocals, lenses that turn into sunglass all for under $100 and I had then delivered in just over a week.

Pat, hard going without insurances for specific coverage..thrilled we seniors are now covered for dentists and denturist.

but the primer on the 3 drawer plaques and 3 doors aren’t drying very quickly. The primer shows imperfections so I get a 2nd chance at sanding again. Thought they would have their 2 coats of grey on them today but that won’t happen today I think

Goal for tomorrow will be chiropractor, pick up another can of primer and divide doors that are left into 3 which should keep me busy painting til Saturday then see about getting all put back on except where Brian will work, once done he can hand the remainder. Certainly be glad when this project is done.

Don’t know how you did it Pat, lol you had on your plate, shaking my head, couldn’t have handled it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't have insurance for glasses or dental. Insurance is expensive, and covers very little. An eye exam is $150.00, glasses usually cost me about $200.00.
I need dental work done, but the dentist wants $12,000.00 for a permanent bridge to replace 3 missing teeth, and pull a back molar tooth. I refuse to pay that much.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy Lindakay, that is a lot of $$$, not a wonder a lot of people go without care. Eye glasses kind of reasonable, Would have cost me around $400-500 for glasses ad i not ordered from USA. Seniors can get eye examination free once a year and think hearing tests same. Think we Canadians complain a lot about our health care but we are truly blessed,if i needed hospitalization, emerge care it would be at no cost. We pay pharmacy filling of prescriptions but that is around $4-5.

Base coat just not drying so will leave till tomorrow.

Took a stuffed pepper out of the freezer, will go get mail then come home and do mashed potatoes,

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Are you having a lot of humidity Betty? That is likely causing the slow drying. Cabinets are a WHOLE lot harder than a couple shelves! Because they were going in the game room, imperfections were NOT an issue. I bought the shelves preprimed but if perfect were the desired outcome, I would have had to resand most of them before I even started.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - it was men that installed the backboard & dart board. It's hardly even being used. The only "issue" I remember at the beginning was one man wanting to use my darts, just to be nasty. We have house darts, but just HAD to use mine. He's gotten over that nastiness & is being pleasant again.
Today's high was 34c (93F). It's supposed to get hotter over the next week.
I'd best get back to my quilting.
Tomorrow I take my car in to get a light kit put on it, for the cargo trailer.
We have a BBQ at 5pm at the Seniors hall. I made a "no bake Chocolate Eclair cake". Not baking or cooking in this heat lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is high temps for you Susan, here is hoping not too hot for camping..your cake sounds delicious, especially the no bake, care to share the recipe.

As for the darts, they are there should someone wish to,play.

1:15 and my eyes are heavy as can be, think I will take a nap. I have to feed the kitties about six.

Gee whiz, I don’t like that Meta AI (artificial intelligence) they have on Facebook/messenger now. i was chatting to Sharon on messenger about having to go to Home Depot later, need paint, sanding paper, primer… I no sooner posted it to her that Meta AI sends me this message

“ Oh my god Sharon, i posted to you and that AI artificial intelligence piped up..here is Meta AI

It sounds like you're tackling a painting project and need to get some supplies from Home Depot to prep the surfaces properly. That's great that you're taking the time to do it right! Filling pits and sanding can make a big difference in the final result. Remember to also clean the surfaces thoroughly before priming to ensure a strong bond between the paint and the surface. Good luck with your project, and I hope it turns out beautifully! If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.”

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am with you Betty. I did NOT invite AI, so they can keep their 2 cents to themselves! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Is scary, just how much info it has the ability to get, think it’s beyond what we need Pat.

Listened to a broadcast the other day, it was a panel of specialists saying IF doctors cooperate with taking advice of AI it will be so much better to diagnose illnesses.

How do you all feel about this kind of health care.

Jeff who is in charge of a big design corporation says it will be an asset and quick diagnosis

How do you feel about this?

Laying here watching paint dry lol. Darlene had a good idea, might try it tomorrow

That 3 tier plant grow unit she and a John gave me a few hours probably would do the trick, I’ll sand in morning and give first coat of primer, set them inside the unit, turn it all and let paint dry.. then paint backside and do same then on to paint.. will try this unless i can be outside painting

Victoria Harbour, ON

Went and got more supplies, Greg and Noah dropped off counter tops
Should do more work but think I will call it a day

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Today it got to 40c
Had a good BBQ at the senior's hall. Estelle loved the lap quilt, and Larry read all the notes on it (with Greg's help & his magnifying glass LOL)

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Magnifying glasses have suddenly become a fashion accessory as we age!

I think AI is a bit scary. OK, maybe a LOT scary! LOL

Verona, ON

Hi everyone,

Chaos has been occupying most of the time. He had major surgery on Tues. He came home that afternoon with drains leaking whatever was in the fatty masses. He has a lots of stitches. He goes back in on Monday. The mojo in the house does feel right. I will sage again tonight.

Hope you are all well and enjoying the cooler temperatures.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Dianne so glad you posted, missed you. Will pray for Chaos, sounds like it was a pretty intensive surgery. Was that the cause of his seizures? You must be so worried.
Hugs

Just finished painting for the day, expecting Jeff shortly so thought I’d clean up the dust. i am too tired to cook so might order a pizza.

Deb and Pat how are you feeling?
Lindakay did you get new glasses yet? Keep looking at the clock, a few hours behind me Susan is, waiting patiently for an update.

Waving to the lurkers, please drop in

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sending prayers your way for Chaos and you! Not easy on us when our beloved pets are needing medical care.

I am still bruised and sore, the collarbone is still acting up a little more than I expected by this time. Guess I will have to break down & make an appointment with my chiropractor. It's been years since I needed to have it adjusted.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - I'll be thinking of you & your TH, especially Chaos!

I'm just heading off camping this weekend. Now, to take my cargo trailer on a real trip. Only 15 minutes away, but I'll be happy to do the trip :)

btw - yesterday was hot (41c) and today promises to be just as hot. Ah well, I'll camp under the trees, in the shade :)

Sending prayers for Chaos, Dianne. How is your boy doing with the seizures?

We've had some lovely weather after the storms on Monday night. Sunny and upper 70's, I hope this stays for a while!
Still wearing the air cast brace on my ankle. Supposed to wear it until I see him again on Aug 1st. It's still achy when I'm walking, but, not the intense pain I had without it.

Have fun on your camping trip, Susan!

Hope you're feeling better, Pat.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No glasses yet. I have an appointment next week to get an exam. Them at least another week before I get my glasses.
Sorry to hear you are still hurting Pat. Hope the chiropractor helps.
Susan, enjoy your camping trip.
Dianne, sorry to hear about Chaos having surgery. Praying he heals quickly.
Betty, I don't like AI either. We Don need another sorce of the big government watching us.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was a gorgeous day here, almost had the feel of fall.

are you ok with sewing Lindakay? Did you finish all those quilts you were donating?
Hope weather is good for Susan’s camping, great that the initial camping trip is close to home.

Pat has Marie left yet for her trip?

Deb, sounds maybe you are doing a tad more walking than you should, know I’d be doing same..wonder why they don’t us casts?

Dianne how is chaos doing today?

Jeff was off to Barrie for 2nd day of hands on to get his permit for his spider and motorcycle, still has to wait til end of august but won’t have to make a driving test plus this course makes insurance more reasonable as it provides 3 year credit as a driver.

I primed 6 door back/front but still feels damp so will wait until tomorrow to finish it up.

Having spaghetti for supper as requested by Jeff, had ripe banana so made a dozen of muffins, added cranberries, has ice taste.
my busy week starts tomorrow, not sure what time mom will get here, i will have to call to let her know i won’t be home from noon-2.

Was going to go see Rose and give the outfits but it’s East Indian Day at Martyrs Shrine, right at park entrance, traffic deadlocked so gave up that idea.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, we have I think 26 of the 24 done. Put them on hold, as we are making about 8 quilts for my daughter in law Misty, to take to Sturgis. She thinks they will sell there. We will see. I will get photos soon.
I can sit at the sewing machine for about an hour before my neck and back start hurting. Need to.take a beak, then back at it. My eyes are so much better, and I wear readers it makes it so much easier to thread the needle.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What you are advertising is illegal. I hope you get arrested.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

reported Notes55 to admin

I took Marie to the airport on Wednesday, she comes back this coming Wednesday. The trip did not start off wonderful.... her carryon got mixed up with another one. Her carryon had her computer AND her Ipad in it plus more. The person who took her's contacted the airlines and Marie & Erin met her 1/2 to Boston to exchange bags.

That's a lot of quilts Linda, I hope they sell well for you!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you for reporting it Pat.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oooh didn’t see a post Lindakay so went up to read what I posted that was illegal, great news, must have been taken off one Pat reported and it wasn’t I

You made great headway on the quilts, aren’t most just on motorcycles at Sturgis though and difficult transporting items home, maybe they can sit on the quilts, worth a try though. Are the ones you are making motorcycle related?
.
Pat that isn’t a good way to start a vacation. How long of a trip would it have been.
Are you enjoying just being on your own, kind of quiet right.some alone time, feet up and enjoying Stanley.

Dianne, how is our sick little boy?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am enjoying some alone time. I am sleeping in the living room recliner, because I can't hear Jenny from my bedroom if she needs to go out.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That can’t be very comfy Pat, arent Stanley and Jenny getting along to be able to have himm8n your bedroom..did you ever get approval and start the shed you wanted? Maybe I missed it.

In between coats of paint to last 6 doors I’ve been laying on couch. Mom comes tomorrow night till Monday and besides ive so many commitments this week i best get rest while I can.

Jeff called at t3:30pm, passed his motorcycle course so 31 more days for him not being able to drive on 400 highway series and at dark..he is anxious. Takes him 2 1/2 hrs to come up using back roads, one his 31 days are up it will take 1 1/2.

Another 10-15 minutes and my sheets will come out of the dryer, i feel cold so it will be nice to claim into warm sheets.
