Afternoon all, 30°F with feel like 28°F, didn’t even have to pre start my vehicle this morning. Just had soup for lunch, been keeping the pot on back deck , warm enough it did not freeze. i will have to divide the rest and freeze, getting souped out.lol

Susan, I’m so pleased they are able to find replacement for the positions you wanted to give up, just think, soon you will be able to do projects outdoors and enjoy.

Think today is suppose to be closing day for Pat’s house, sure hope all is going according to their plan.

You must be at the point Sharon that there isn’t a weed left to be picked. Good thinking telling your helper the reason you are not understanding is because of your hearing, would it help if you or he wrote i down for the other to understand. As for the bones, got them at a meat market, seems non of the other grocery stores carry them.

My plowman dropped in and saw my cherry pie, still intact, asked me if I made meat pies, yep, he said how about he pay for all ingredients and I keep 1/2 and he get 1/2. Fixings are very expensive, don’t think he knows just how much.

You have enough casino’s on the main drag, am sure that having a sports facility will be a draw.

Called Suzanne, it’s her birthday today, about 3 weeks ago I asked her to come out for supper, she said she had a busy schedule, knew it was an excuse, asked her about it this morning and we have reservations for 630pm

Maybe I will have a nap, as Peyton comes at 4:30-6:30 then it’s eats.
Tomorrow there will be no nap

ONLY WAY TO SEND A MESSAGE WAS BY ADDING TO THIS ONE..SUSAN DG TO TELL THEM ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS

Strange - there wasn't a box to post a reply, so I "quoted" the last post & edited it in order to post this. This site is having "issues". Don't know about other threads, because this is the only one I come to.
Betty - wish Suzanne Happy Birthday :) Now, why would she make an excuse and then agree on her birthday? Odd.

The lady I asked to be a treasurer won't - too busy - so I don't know what I'll do.
Monday's going to be busy - coffeetime until 11:30, then rush to town to get a copy of the bylaws for our Wellness group (not sure where the other copy went, but no one seems to know), buy some meat from a farm (personal use), then off to the Community Centre to help set up for the Community Dinner.

Yep, me too. Thanks for letting me know how to overcome this glitch!

My closure is delayed by at least a week to 2 weeks while they iron out what I consider a political/financial issue between the buyer and Title company. We have had to find a new title company and start from scratch.

Tomorrow we get the first bid back on the construction in the new longarm room/ 3rd bay of the garage.

We shopped for new carpet for Marie's room AND bought some art for the living room.

How aggravating is this, DG has had so many problems, big sigh
If some thought of not paying their fee anymore I wouldn’t blame them

Pat, so sorry to hear about the problems with closing, especially for all the pressure you had to have it ready..hugs

I’ve lots to type but won’t do it til we are fixed

I know that most of you would be aware that the reason Native American tribes can run casinos where no one else can is related to their status as a Sovereign Nation. They can sell cigerettes without US taxes etc. So when the organization is involved in certain financial transactions, US laws do not apply.
Banks loan money with the protection that US laws provide about repossessing etc. Take away their protection and suddenly they are NOT so eager to loan. The rest you can fill in on your own.

So currently, we have yet to close on my house. Marie does own the house on Cotswold, we are moving the majority of her stuff from Burbank to Cotswold on Saturday, but we will remain in HER house in Burbank until she has her house ready to list. It's easier to pack it up if we are here to work. We are "camping out" with minimal stuff & only what we want left for staging.

Some of this will change, depending on whether my son Clayton & grandson Bruce DO come on Monday or not. I won't know until Sunday whether both, only Clayton or neither are coming.

Adam hooked up my washer and dryer at Cotswold today. We will sell my set AFTER we sell her house.& move Marie's set to the new house. For now, both houses have W&D.

I met with another contractor, Octovio, today & he said he will have his bid for us tomorrow. The first guy, Stephan, says he will be ready Saturday at 5.30.after doing another walk thru with "his crew". Octovio did work on my Jean st house so I know him. Stephan did my fire door just last week at Jean.

(from Susan) We have the same type of laws here, in Canada, so yes, I understand why it's a political/financial issue. I hope this gets resolved quickly, for you & Marie.
I just spoke to my therapist & I'm filling out a Form 7, asking for Bob to be detained for mental health evaluation. Next time I talk to my therapist is Feb 17th (how fitting, eh?)
Games night tonight. Our newest resident hopefully will be there.
My contactor will come early next week, some evening, to see what I need done to my den to make it more comfortable heat-wise. I hope that SHARP will cover this.

ANYONE KNOW WHEN DG will be running properly? Usually I get a response from DG after sending them a message but not this time

Everyone ok?

Susan is the 17th your wedding anniversary or birthday, not with it

Pat, big sigh, am hoping all this will be straightened out, you don’t need something else to worry about

Last night, late I made the mixture for meat pies, at 4 pm i was up making meat pies, left here at nine, delivered floral arrangement to funeral home, drove 1/2 hr each way to deliver Christmas gifts to godson and his wife the back to funeral home from 11-1 then 1-3 at curling club for eats, omg there was over 100 people and luncheon was catered, even gad 1/2 subs wrapped. ..
drove to sewing shop and bought a few things, Sharon was there, she drove herself, we chatted a bit, walked in, directly to run the tub, have my nighty on, waiting for Jules to pick up his meat pies then to bed I go.

Not only am i tired, mega pain, think (lifting all those fabric boxes yesterday) it’s to bed for me

Should try one of those pies before I send them home with Jules

6 lbs hamburger, 1 lb pork which gave me 6 pies. Not mak8ng $$, he asked if i made meat pies and i said rarely, he said i will pay for ingredients you keep half and I will get 1/2

Nope, will give him 4 and keep 2, even at that I do not where i will put them, freezer and fridge freezer are beyond full… i eat a few bites, nothing tastes good, any more than that i feel like I want to vomit.

It will be a week or more before we know if the "fix" ./ new title company with experience of this nature can get it all handled. Oh well.

I got an update on my BFF hysterectomy this morning, the hospital called since I am her POA & they were seeking permission to check the lymph glands.. They found early stage cancer, they think they got everything.

I picked up the UHaul and have it backed and ready for loading tomorrow. A bunch of Marie's furniture.

Marie's at Lowe's checking out doing some upgrades to our cabinets (pull out shelves) and adding an appliance garage. She ordered the new carpet for her bedroom and the "insert" in the livingroom.

Betty - My birthday is March 11th. I'll be 70 - a big milestone that I'm looking forward to. I never did have any kind of occasion in January. Not sure what you're thinking of.

a WEEK or two before the site is fixed? YUCK
Pat - insert? Are you talking about an area rug? Hope they got all your BFF's cancer

btw - DUH me. Yes, Bob was served the divorce papers, and the time for him to contest them is well & truly gone, BUT I never filed the paperwork showing that he was served. I don't have any time to drive to Red Deer until Wednesday, but I will go to the courthouse then and get them filed. I called today to find out when the divorce certificate would be sent & that's when I found out that I'm not divorced because I never filed that he was served. For awhile (an hour!) I couldn't find the divorce papers with the file # NOR the serving paperwork with the Affidavit of Service signed by my friend Dianne. He was served back in OCT for pete's sake. I have them now though. So, I'm not divorced yet. Good thing I wasn't going out with a new man LOL Also a good thing that I didn't have to get Dianne to fill out the forms again She's in Mexico until March 3rd LOL

Ok, trying to figure this out. How to respond.
At the top of DG homepage it says there is a problem with making post and they are working on it. Not fast enough if you ask me.
Betty, you shouldn't be lifting all those boxes. Praying a hot bath helped your pain.
Susan, I hope you get your papers filed soon.
Pat, sorry to hear about your friend being sick. Also that your house sale goes through soon.

Goodness knows where this post is going if anywhere so I’ll be short

No sooner did i get home from funeral yesterday I broke out with a fever, right to bed!
After several bath and flu-cold meds did I keep it under control. I’m on the couch, although it’s -13 the sun is shinning through picture window and warming me up.

Oh Suzanne that is quite a mess you are in, best you get that looked after asap.

Sorry to hear about your friend Pat, maybe it was a blessing she had the surgery and caught the cancer on time.sounds as though Marie is moving forward, takes stress off of you. Bet you are anxious to see your son and grandson

Great new Lindakay, that cold just wanted to stay with you.now to get on with projects you enjoy..I’d ask for photo of your new quilt but until site is running no go

Missing you all

I think you misunderstood Linda. I meant it take a week or two to "fix" straighten out my title/loan issues because of the whole "Sovreign Nation" buyer issues, not DavesGarden!

By Insert I meant, they actually drop the carpet BELOW the other floor height so the carpet insert looks like a throw rug but is actual carpet and level with surrounding areas. IWe had NEVER seen this done before so thought it was a throw rug! It lays very flat and there is no trip hazard, there are lots of perks to it but it wasn't what we thought! .

Marie bought a beautiful multi gray carpet for her bedroom and to replace the "insert". It will have almost no contrast with the surrounding laminate flooring so we could put a pretty area rug over it.

I talked to Clayton this morning and Bruce is not running a fever, now. He feels fine and looks like everything is on point to travel to US as previously planned. Guess I had a melt down over nothing?

Moving help gets here in 40 minutes, I should eat more than frozen blueberries.

Also, you DON'T need to post before you edit. Click "quote" and when the old post comes up, you can "edit your post" right away, highlight & delete it and put in your own words.
"insert" sounds like what I've seen with medallions in floors, but with carpet. Great that it's not a tripping hazard, too.

Last night we had Games Night, and 2 new residents to our wee hamlet came. This is exciting. Not only are they new to our community, but both seniors & one joined our society the other day. Now, to make a welcome basket for our newest resident.
I'm going to open our Seniors Centre for coffeetime M-F, from 9-11am. Currently it's 9:30 -11:30, but newer residents want somewhere to go for coffee here, and there's nowhere, and us opening ONLY Monday isn't making us any kind of destination for residents. I'll look for volunteers to open, but even if we don't have any, I'm going to insist that we DO open more often.
It's SO icy outside that for now, I'm glad not to go anywhere today. Tomorrow's church & I hope it's better then because I'd like to go. The weather's beautiful, but it thaws & freezes overnight.

I feel lost without knowing you are all ok

You would think DG would. Post updates as to the situation

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I'm fine. Just got home from a very busy day. Been on the go since 8:15 this morning, and now I got home at 7:30pm. Coffeetime at Silver Willow seniors, then into town to order our bylaws (went missing years ago, and now the "keeper' of them has passed away & we never did get them from her), request a Memory bench for that same lady, met with someone to get meat from her ranch for me, then picked up meat for our Community Dinner that was tonight. Cooked & sliced already, for our Beef On A Bun. We have enough beef for another dinner, so it's in the freezer now. Turned that the beef was not a donation, but instead they cut the price on it - not $169, but charged $120. We got a lot in donations to mostly pay me back for buying the beef. So, $60 for each of two meals for a group isn't bad.
Now, relaxing at home.
Wish this ice would melt - it's treacherous out there. Even my car spins its wheels & sometimes I can't go forward, so I do a U-turn & go down another street. I'm talking about my town and the streets are empty enough & wide enough that I can safely do it. There's a bit of an incline that my car CAN'T go uphill on.
Oh, and my innards of my driver's door broke AGAIN. This time they've ordered a new door for me - and it will be silver like the rest of my car's colour. In the meantime I have to put my driver's seat way back and slide over the console to the passenger side to get out. Hope the door comes in quickly. Today I had to get in & out of the car about 10 times. Once, I wrenched my knee painfully. Now I know how to slide backwards and won't do that again LOL
Anyway, all's good. The dinner went over well. People really enjoy going out now & then.
Have 25 people who've signed up for the Dinner & Cowboy Comedy show in April. That leaves room for 15 more to make a total of 40. At 40 people ($15 each) that means that Silver Willow will only need to pay $52 & supply the potluck. Not bad for a live show in our community.

Hard to believe DG is taking this long to fix things.
All is well here in Texas. Temps and 50 to 60 during the day, about 30 at night. Not too bad.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sunshine day and feeling a tad better, enough so that I vacuumed, washed floors and wiped down everything in 2 bedrooms.

Lordy I moved the coffee table and there was pot luck, so much yuck, how that happens is beyond me.

That is enjoyable daytime weather Lindakay, maybe with each day it will eep rising and you can walk the furry.

Susan, that is a great deal on the meat, these days a great bargain. You are doing well on ticket sales, am sure you will have a ‘sold out’ event. Drats on the car door, you don’t need an 8n jury though. Are you still having bad weather?

Hoping that Dianne is getting the same weather as I.

Deb, any dog shows planned for this month?

Pat, i am so hoping today you are resting today and maybe you and Marie are enjoying something fun.

Know I’ve missed someone , just got out of my cleaning nighty and must leave for chiropractor in 10 minutes, will drop in later tonight

Betty - our weather still stinks - VERY icy
Hope that DG's "rolled out soon" really IS soon. This is ridiculous

My car door's not in yet, but hope it is, this week.
heading out to Social Group now. Take care everyone (after all, "care" is free, legal & moral - take AAAAAAALL you want lol)

Morning, 40f today, 43f Thursday and omg 50f Friday, could maybe get some limbs picked up.

About this present situation with DG, the very least they should be doing is giving daily updates as to their progress or non progress. It may be somewhere but where.

Let’s hope that door comes soon, is it from a car recycle place where cars are left for parts? Nis it a big job for them to install? Perhaps it is if the vehicle has electric window and locks..

was home 7:50 this morning after my chiropractor appointment, like the early appointments but not so much if i had to shovel 1st. I believe iam in a lot less pain, will really know by next month once the injection meds have worn out but I believe it is helping. Hurrah

Still a tad under the weather, so will take it easy today.

I had a small Valentine’s Day piece started, too many Valentine’s Day throws but wanted to finish it, might work on it today or just May on the couch.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you are beginning to feel relief. Chiropractor visits help me so much.
Another beautiful day here. Supposed to be about 65 this afternoon. Beautiful sweater weather.
Praying DG can get this site fixed soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, frost on car window but it’s promising to be 43f this afternoon.

Lindakay Thant is my perfect weather 65-75f
Been quiet this week
Decided yesterday that I’d call for Dr appointment seeing I’m unable to eat but less than a saucer of food a day, hate calling my doctors office grrr

I called for 3 reasons
- appointment re my not being able to eat as much as a mouse
- haven’t had a physical in 10 years would like to quickly schedule one
- need my meds to be renewed

She went on that the doctor can only talk about a specific item so got a booking for Feb 26th.

Today I try to call for renewing prescriptions, then i guess another day for physical.

I had a bowl of cereal, took all i could to get it down, only a few sips of coffee

Wonder how everyone else is doing

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well Betty.
Sad they can't get you in till the 26th.
We are doing good here. Cold fron coming in this weekend. Supposed to be a high of 34 and snow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here I is, in bed, Ziggy laying next to me, was petting him the swap, to heck with him lol

I don’t remember you ever having that cold of weather but there has to be 3-4 hours difference from your previous home. Are you finding it hard to adjust weather wise. How is your craft room coming?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, spring day out there, sun is shining, giving us a taste of what is to come in April. Expecting 53f which is a long time held record.

Of course I just had to take down deck lights, remove the lights on 5 imitation trees and secure obelisk. Seemed to go well until i got it stored under deck.

Is windy out there, not sure why but when i went stateside i had a bad earache, when i came in after 1/2 hr outside couldn’t move my head in any direction so on couch with trusted heated frog on my ear and it’s helping.

Maybe this afternoon i will feel up to doing something.

It’s Marie’s Birthday today, should be in town buying her a special gift but and only thing I have in stock is a set of light grey towels, don’t think people enjoy getting towels do you

Good morning.
Betty, Amarillo is 7 hours from Del Rio. Big temp differences.
You are going to be a grandma again? Congratulations. When is she due?
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Sewing room is getting there. Still moving things around, trying to get the remodeling done.
All threads on DG are the same. Everyone is complaining.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is quite a bit north, likely then your summer will be more bearable. Is the earth less clay like and can you make a flower garden this year?

I believe not til end of June, early July. When Grayson was born they were quarantined for almost a week, wasn’t fun times.

Bet you are excited about your new sewing room

Damn, June just called, she has had a cold and sore throat for about 10 days, wants me to get checked for streptococcal GAS ??? few kids have passed, schools have sent out warnings, said best cancel having school kids for awhile, i just went thru Covid shutdown, not doing another.. I’ll be 76, has a good life and not going to be house imprisoned again.

brrrr LindaKay - we in Canada should only have such "cold" weather lol

My opening up coffeetime M-F, and having Friday Games Night is starting to pay off. Two senior men (separate households) and a senior couple are/will be joining our Society. This is rather exciting, to have 4 new members. They like playing crib, pool, and other games. Looks like Silver Willow will become a "destination" after all, for coffeetime AND games.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, beautiful sunrise, calling for a high of 39F

Susan that is exciting for sure, are there enough members that they can enjoy the activities with several others? Now if other members would find recruits.

Took a photo so you could all see the sun beaming through the front window.

At entrance of Victoria Harbour was a sign saying “World greatest sunsets”
and it sure is. I will have to start posting photos. I will add last nights.

I’ve decided I will paint a sign of the front of toy place like I did for Paul and Linda, would give me something to do, haven’t painted in years. Know Home Depot has laminated slabs of different sizes but first to find a photo.

Mason and Evan are coming this morning, maybe later Selma, we will see
Not going to overdo

Went out to roadside, Marie was just going on the walk, perhaps next nice day I will ask her if she will take a shorter walk, she does 3-5 miles on each of her walks and that is 2-3 times a day if not more and I will go with her

Lots of snow left, but we may be through the worst of winter.
Whoooo Hoooo! I got my driver's side car door replaced this morning, and it's the identical colour! (cost almost $700, but it's so pretty!) They don't mind me paying in 2 installments. I really like my mechanic. They know that I may not be able to pay up front, but they also know that I will pay. It's great to be able to get in & out of my car normally lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yesterday I could not even drink a few sips of water so once I took my pills, I vomited them all out,
Finally, last night I was so sick. Nothing left in me that I called an ambulance when I got here within a half an hour they had me on intervenous meds to stop me wanting to vomit. Did a CAT scan.

Doctor was here early and told me I had an infected colitis and so dehydrated so I’ve been on intervenous all night. He said there’s no reason I can’t come home if we take it easy, take his prescription only have liquids for the next two days then maybe incorporate some pudding and Jell-O, and try and hold off for part of the week. See if I can add a little bit of solid foods

So he is still giving me two bags of IV but included a bag of meds to help clear the infection out quicker and then sending me home with a prescription.

So all is good

That doesn't sound good, Betty. How did you get so dehydrated?
Listen to the Dr, or you'll get sicker. Infected colitis? No, that doesn't sound good.
Please take care.

Usual busy day - heading off to set up for coffee.
