Lilies 2010 - Part 3

Mentor, OH

This past Spring was the second year for these red border lilies. What started off as, I believe, 15-20 bulbs has turned into a mass(or mess). I dug up and gave away at least 5-6 dozen and accidently broke off another three dozen. This pic was made after all this thinning. I still have 40-50 plants. I love flowers planted in mass, but this is too much. Is it normal for any type of lily to multiply this much, this fast ?

I got it from the Wooden Shoe co-op a couple years ago..I think Neal did it. It is supposed to be AQ and it is more melon rather than yellow.

Oh man I wish I had space to do mass plantings like that!

Psudan, that is truly amazing. I wonder if I will ever be in that situation, dividing, diving and dividing some more. Who else has been a dividing fiend? But let's go to part 4, this thread is getting long.

psudan, if you are still dividing your reds, they can always come to Florida for a vacation *S*

Steve- Your gardens look fabulous. Sorry to be late noticing but for some reason I didn't realize there was a new updated thread. And I just get here and there is another already. This time at least I know it.

Here is one I've been waiting ..... the buds turned completely yellow. I thought it was burned from the sun or something but look at the flowers.
