I love Mona LIsa, I had it at our old house. May have to get a few of those to put in pots.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

First year for Mona Lisa for me. I am cursed with Lollipops.
The Lily Garden thought she was doing me a favor when she sent a bonus of the cursed things last fall. I had no idea which they were just labled "bonus" Lollipops is what I got.
I planted 2 bulbs in a planter in 1996 .I moved the planter here in 2007 and wanted to transplant the lollipops in 2008 when I was into coleus.
When I went to dig them out ,the entire top was filled with bulbletts of all sizes, some growing above the soil, they had squeezed in so tight.
I should have known then. They are aggressive

At least your experience can be a teaching tool for many of us who have Lollipop. I'll be digging my three today and potting them up to avoid the situation you face. Thanks for letting us all know.

No problem.Thats what Daves is for.

Brandon, FL(Zone 9b)

am hoping someone saw my post above and can answer my question... I really don't want to start these seeds all wrong and loose them.

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

This is what DGer Leftwood told me to do:

Don't plant the seed outside until danger of frost is past. But it is better to start them in a pot. Regular free draining potting mix is fine. Not the cheap mucky stuff. If you are unsure, add some more sand or perlite for aeration. Not more peat, as too much of that can hold too much water. These are dwarf, so they don't grow as fast as regular hybrid lilies, but they still can bloom in the first season where you live.

They will germinated best at around room temp. You could start them early inside and transplant outside when night temps don't go below 45F if you want, but you don't need to.

Rick aka Leftwood

Sowed my seeds in Nov and germnated in early March. I had abouty 50-60% germination, maybe a little more. I haven't made time to transplant to a larger pot, and they are overdue. I keep them in a shaded spot.

Some of my lilies. This is Lollipop. Now I'm reading here that it is invasive. Is that correct?

Nice collection you have there! No, Lollipops are not really invasive (lol) they just multiply readily.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

mnorberry! Invasive might be a strong term for it.I find Lollipop to be a multiplier in a few years you will have many bulbletts.

Elgin, IL(Zone 5a)

Sherrygirl, great lilies and pics!

Great lily pics, y'all!

I think I identified this one as Pup Art. Any thoughts? Edited to add that it's not completely open yet.

Oh, nanny..that's awesome! I have gotten some new tango lilies that actually bloomed this year. My newest favorite is Tango Dot Com. It was also the first of them to bloom.

Looking into Queen?
I vote Golden Splendor

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

I do have GS. Got it early in the spring and it was surprisingly my very first lily to bloom. It was impressive in its first year. Can't wait to see it next year. I have only just gotten into those tall pendant ones...Must have more:))
