Oh hec. My supposed TUMALO SUNSET that I received from Schreiners last year just bloomed and it is a purple iris. I will have to take a picture of the purple bloom, it is absolutely striking but not what it is supposed to be. Now I will have to get the real TUMALO SUNSET because I see all the pictures here and gotta have it.

Leawood, KS(Zone 5b)

This is "Starship Enterprise" - given to be by accident by a wonderful local gardener.

marti- Your iris need list must be pretty long by now and getting longer each day.

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

LOL!! You bet!! With a half acre to plant and the half acre next door my sister owns I can spread out quite a bit.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

These were looking very pretty today despite all the rain we have had.

I like these because they are unusual.

BeaHive,
Do you know the name of the pink iris? It looks like the one I am rescuing.

South Hamilton, MA

I like the long spurred columbine as well.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

If I had a half an acre, I would be in heaven because I would be dead from all the work.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Marti..went outside to take a look. I have very naughty garden fairies who erase or remove my garden markers. This one is missing! Darn wish I could help!

Another to remane nameless. :(

Monet's favorite I believe, was Iris Pallida, otherwise known as the grape kool-aid iris. He grew masses of them in his extensive gardens. Why not? They complement everything, and smell wonderful!

Iris bed from front. These are the oldies that survived the "Borer-Wars" and have multiplied nicely. My new ones are in various places but will be moved here after I expand it.

This thread is getting pretty long. How about starting a new one.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Yes my message is my original. But you welcome to use it. I have often said, because my lot is 125 x 150 with a home in the middle, that if it was any larger, I would work myself to death. What would be better than to work yourself to death in your garden and end up in an Iris plus garden in heaven. Maybe better if you were right next to a Vodka distillery. LOL.
