Oh, wow... the colors on that Procyon are soooo gorgeous.

You seriously need to enter the photo of the frog on the slug when the photo contest comes... that's like the best photo EVER. :D

I realeased approximately 2,000 ladybugs last night. Today they're EVERYWHERE. They seem to be fascinated with the tops of the solar lights, all the lights have bunches on them.

Thanks Pony.
So love the Ladys, LOL that is one to send in too. and the dal.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

LOL I can't go outside without ladybugs landing on me. I keep telling them I'm not a plant, but they don't listen... hehe.

(Judi)Portland, OR

Tills that is the ugliest slug I have ever seen! You grow 'em big up there!

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

LOL and I have 4 differant kinds, He was huge compared to the little frog. Thats why I have so much problems with them, I think my bait they have got immune to and grow bigger LOL I don't have a clue how to fight them. I do not have a fence to toss them over for a neighbor to deal with, or to come back with revinge. but I have no qualms about cutting them in half, Off with there heads LOL
But that one was huge, he is no longer on this earth. Poor ugly thing LOL.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Judi..this is another ugly which I spotted at the Oregon Gardens last September. They are here in OR too! Sure glad I have not found those in my yard!

Till..I feel your pain! Hate them all... But they are good for our eco system. I must keep telling mysef that over and over!

That one is prettier than the one with the frog,m He was way ugly. lol

(Judi)Portland, OR

Tills your posts always make me chuckle LOL. Your slug wins the ugly photo prize! Bea I have never seen a slug like that in my garden - thank goodness. You need a shotgun for those guys!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Yeah. The one I posted was about 8 inches long and a good inch thick . Yuck. Tilly, neither would win a beauty contest. That's for sure.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

That's for certain!!

Pony... great lady bugs. I would love seeing those all around. how does that stargazer dance of joy go?

Tilly.... Great pics! even if one of the subjects is ugly.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Red- it goes *BOOM shakalakalaka BOOM shakalakalaka... ow... my back!* LOL!

If you want to be swarming with ladybugs too, go here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290332060551 I got 2000 of the little cuties for just under $20 including shipping. Hopefully they'll do their job and eat the aphids and other nasty little bugs- I've sworn off pesticides for the sake of the frogs.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

lol.... sounds great, minus the back break!

Thanks for the link. That's a really good price I think. I might do that since I've had a bit of a run in with aphids this year, but actually scale has been worse.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

That was the best price I found after doing quite a bit of looking around online. The seller told me that raising and selling the ladybugs was his kids summer project- I thought that was kind of cool.

(Judi)Portland, OR

8 inches long!!! The stuff of nightmares! Are those banana slugs? Why can't creatures that are good for our eco system all be cute?

Eugene, OR

That one of Bea's is kinda cute.........I can't get past the slime part.

(Judi)Portland, OR

Sally, you've been hanging out with too many slugs.......

Eugene, OR

ROFLOL!!

Wish I'd had a camera with me yesterday when my sis (she's visiting from CA) and I came across a really huge one, it looked more like the blob than a slug. Totally disgusted sis, she doesn't get slugs, just snails. She was helping me dig out a winter damaged bush and we found it in a cavity under some nearby rocks. And there were frogs sitting on it.

(Judi)Portland, OR

OMG glad I already had breakfast.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Sorry. Should put a warning on that link! Yucky!

(Linda)Gig Harbor, WA(Zone 8a)
