Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

There are so many colors in this lily, it reminds me of a water color painting.

I agree with pixie62560.

Pink Jazz is really set off by the dark lilies in the background. Nice!

I took this pic of Color Parade and it's funky filaments. All of the blooms are like this ~ look like creepy spiders

That is WEIRD. It looks like when the filaments were growing in the bud, something got in the way. Maybe the buds weren't big enough when the filaments wanted to be bigger. Don't mind me I'm just mumbling to myself here lol.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

That's OK, I've been mumbling along the same lines about that and Red Dutch too. Seems like some parts are trying to bust out.

Terrific! I loved it.

Donna, SR looks wonderful among those grasses, ...well, it's wonderful no matter, but that's a great combo! My SR didn't show up, the one I thought could be it turned out to be Zagorra.

Mags, Pink Jazz is a beaut! Must know more about it! Is it an OT?

Cool shots, onewish!

Tracey,

You have so many lovely lilies, but Pink Jazz took my breath away.

Moby, love the creepy spiders.

What great lilies!

There are too many posting pictures for me to keep track, but I love them all. I once thought I had a fair amount of lilies, but I'm seeing so many I've never even heard of. . . . . . . . and I spend alot of the winter on lily sites!

'Pink Jazz' is an OT bred by Dick Bazett from Canada. Last year was my first year with it and it was well loved by me then, but this year more than doubled my "Wow". The flower form is very unique, with a funnel shape.

Here is #3 of my Sims seedling trumpet that is yellow with a rose edge. I tried to capture the color, but here it is anyway.

I love 'San Souci'. It is one of the finest around. Yours looks darling llilyfan.

Nice pictures and what a strange deal on 'Color Parade'.

Here's another view, so you can see the reverse.

Tracey,

I ask this because you will be a great source for information. I love orientals but find that they do not persist - or perhaps I am choosing the wrong ones. I once order one of six different lilies from a copany (a great one) and none of them were happy - they didn't appear. When I asked the owners of the company what I did wrong they suggested that they substitute Sorbonne, which they did and which has done beautifully. I find that Casa Blanca is tough, as is Chrystal Blanca (a shorter cousin) but I was wondering if you have noticed that there are Orientals with particular vigor. I would really like to intensify the color of my lilies, which are quite pastel. You have an fabulous collection of just about every kind of lily I can think of. Any thoughts?

onewish1, I really enjoyed your bird cam slide show! Wonderful lilies, I look forward to every day and can't wait to see all your wonderful lily pictures.

(re: moi) You are very beautiful, pard, and so are your other friends.

Donna, thanks for asking about the orientals. Someone traded me a bunch of them, which I potted up for the time being, and of 6 cultivars, only Red Dutch, which I think is the only not fully oriental one, is growing. The rest didn't even appear.

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

good morning all. The extreme heat has made my lilies shy, so not much to post. However, the lilies I got from B&B are close to blooming, with Lollipop starting. Landini and a bright orange one (can't remember) to follow.

I have bought "late" bulbs before but most of them didn't make it. Don't know if it was overwatering, or what. This year I decided to follow lilifan's tip about lining pot w/ aluminum foil. I was also skimpy w/ water and they are looking fabulous. I think this works and certainly something I will do in future years when I get "late" bulbs.

I'm enjoying everybody's pics. Mags, I'm so impressed with your seedlings. I'm still learning what works in my garden but look forward to playing w/ seeds in the future.

edited to add: hmmmm. I hope these are lollipops. I was about to add my pic to the PF and started thinking mine don't have that distinctive pink tips as the ones in the PF. what do you think?

Perennial,

I ordered Lavender Mist, Pink Ribbons, Arena and another pink oriental. None of them ever appeared. I actually got speciosum 'Uchida" to last about three years, and it's supposed to be fussy. Interesting, isn't it? That's why I thought I'd ask Tracey. She's incredibly knowledgeable.

I'd love some dark red Orientals!

Donna, as for dark red Orientals, Rio Negro is gorgeous, and came back extra strong in its 2nd year here. Bergamo is one I've found extra strong too, and has persisted and multiplied for me for 6 years now.
