NYrita, you are right. I will lie down tomorrow! I always go right to sleep!!
Here's the front edge of the big garden in the hammock pic that I call "The Park."
What's Your View?
So much space and nice plantings! You need to rest in that hammock boojum! ^_^
Uh-oh my thumbnails are playing leap frog!
Donna, thanks so much for sharing the pictures of your beautiful house and garden! I am so happy to have gotten to see it from all angles. And the view across the street is wonderful - and no neighbors to look at! I take it the grounds and the gazebo are for anyone's use? You always make everything look so fresh and clean and make great use of varying heights and textures - and your beautiful red house really sets off your gardens, and vice versa.
Boojum, wonderful job as usual. It must be a heck of a lot of work to take such good care of three + acres. Everything is so neat and well, perfectly formed and positioned. Terrific display! That hammock looks awfully comfortable!
I agree on all points! With all the varying heights makes me want to play hide and seek at Donna's place. At boojum's.... I'd enjoy the view so much I'd never get out of that hammock.
Boojum- Your gardens are spectacular! I love every single view. Oh, to have some acreage. I can only dream. Thanks for sharing your pix.
Thanks for enjoying them!!
Great gardens Donna. You do a beautiful job of making use of all the space you have.
Boojum, your gardens look like such a relaxing place to be. I don't know how you can resist just walking by your hammock. I'm envious of all your space too!
Donna, I love your place- you've done an amazing job!
boojum, your gardens are glorious! I noticed your windows open by the tall OT lilies- natural air freshener is the best isn't it!
Completely awesome! If only I had some room like that! My question is, who mows all that lawn?!!!
Heavenly views everyones. I'd have a hard time ever leaving home with all the beauty to enjoy.
Susan
I hardly leave. My DBF mows the lawn these days. It takes most of the day!!
Donna I've had glimpses of your gardens before, but never like you've posted this time. They are wonderful! Your use of grasses is outstanding. After meeting you and your cute garden boy, I knew your gardens would be really nice. :)
Boojum, wonderful gardens. I like your use of the various conifers. This is something that I'm getting into more and more. That and flowering trees. :) Everything looks so nicely manicured in both yours and Donna's gardens. They put mine to shame. I know about the "taking all day to mow" routine. We have a little over 10 acres and we probably mow three or four of it as a lawn, and bush hog the rest.
Nicely done ladies. :)
Diann
boojum - can I come live with you? I love your property and what you've done with it!
I really wanted to have a good view of the sunrise or sunset when I bought a house, but didn't get that. In town with alot of trees tends to block the panorama.
You did a wonderful job with the vistas you showed us.
Boojum!
Can I come live with you too? All that lovely space. You can go for long walks, all on your own property! You can completely determine your view. How fabulous.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. And Steve, the gazebo and open space are for everyone's use - but no one uses it! We have sports areas nearby maintained by the county, so people go there. We have the occasional concert, and the occasional wedding. The wedding ceremony takes place at the gazebo, and then they move to a 100 year old restored barn about 3 blocks away (for, I presume, the revelry of the reception).
Diann, you have ten acres? I had no idea. Here a ten acre property with nothing on it is worth millions. Conifers and flowering trees sound like lovely ideas.
I love seeing everyone's gardens. So many visions, all of them beautiful.
Donna
Donna you do such a fabulous job with your space. You definitely need to show us those grasses while they are pluming out. Your taste in lovelies is spectacular. Very nice use of space there.
It is so great to see how we all deal with the constraints of our garden spaces. Here my biggest constraint is my energy!! But it's a big one!
My Japanese garden is my shame. I won't post a picture until I get out there and weed it. Bad, bad girl.
pastime, Just beautiful. I know what you mean about weeding.
What a great place to sit and be surrounded by beauty! Where's the lemonade?
I could pass a lot of very relaxing time in that garden. So serene. I have some areas that are overun with weeds too, but I planting some new Iris and dividing some old ones and that's much more fun than weeding.
