R. Giskard in the garden yesterday. My JIs seem to be lasting forever this year due to the cool nights but now it is getting hot so I suspect they will go by fast.

Those JI are stunning for sure! My first is blooming today...Ruby King...an oldie but goodie. I crossed it to a bunch of versicolors and biversatas to see what I get!

Those are beautiful. The Lotus is also Boojum. Don't see many of those in this country.

There's a water garden place nearby. This one is in a plastic low pot inside a large basin filled with water.
Anyone know about a Russian ensata called Alexeeva (I think collected by Nina Alexeeva)? I just got one from Deb Wheeler.

Seeds were offered from SIGNA 2006, JPW offered them for an ensata collected by Alexeeva. Could that be it?.

I find nothing registered here, which wouldn't be unusual for a Russian iris, although many are.

Debby said it is a red purple ensata form. I have another from E. Russia from Phil Cook. They are not suppose to be the same. The one from Phil hasn't bloomed yet. In a few years, all shall be revealed.

Here is Rose Queen...at least that's what I think this one is...I seem to recall getting it as something else.

ca't recall if I showed this one before...this is I. virginica 'Dottie's Double'.....it's been in bloom for a couple of weeks now...getting near the end.

Mittsy, love your pond picture of Darling. What do you do in the winter with the pots? Do they get overgrown fast?

I have another round of blooms on Aichi. Yesterday morning they were all shaped like balloons with slits on the sides and points on top where the petals were still attached. I ran for my camera but when I got back one of the falls on each were down! Drat!!

All pots that are in the pond go into the ground before winter sets in. I usually dig a trench and put all pots just below the soil level.

Todd, what's blooming there now?? I still have a few JIs blooming away even though it is peak daylilies and hollyhocks here. And pollyk, I found a new bloom stalk on Seneca Midnight Blues today. Could it be a repeat bloomer??? You can imagine how happy I am!
