Wow, is that orange calendula? Love the color. Your daylilies are so pretty.

I have Sunset instead of Sundown. You sure have a lot of blooms there. Mine aren't blooming yet.

Yes forgot to type that in there....orange calendula from my wildflower garden.

I'm currently working on my blue and yellow garden and it's weird that my wildlfower garden at this time has majority blue and yellow blooming.

I need to something blooming in the front of my house though, absolutely nothing going on there.

flowerjen, I like your color combo too. What is the blue flower? I am guessing the yellow is black eyed susan. Your bird bath is gorgeous. Great use of plants and garden objects.

Chinese forget me nots and some cornflower.

New photos. A bunch of daylilies are blooming. This one I know the name - it's Moana Twirler. The flower is huge - about 8 inches across.

Not sure of the name. Very dark burgundy, a beautiful color that the camera isn't quite capturing.

This is the same red one as before, I think it's Hunter's Torch.

I love gooseneck loosestrife. I don't care that it spreads like crazy, I just pull up the extras so I can have this flock of geese in my garden every year.

Keep hoping this one butterfly weed will self sow and spread.

I bet if you save some seeds and put them where you want plants you would improve your odds some. Mine have a knack for coming up in all the wrong places.

daisy fleabane, I guess.. lots of lilies behind them - this is from the porch, looking at the back of the bed. The taller plants really are in the back, at least in this spot

Gita, your comment about same-old same-old kind of struck me, but things here are more different than I realized at first, lots of new daylilies to look forward to this year.

Astilbe finally looking like something. I've managed to kill a couple of these in the past, maybe over the hump now

I really like this hosta, 'Alex Summers'. In trying to ID which one it was (I buried the tags...), I learned it was named after the founder of the American hosta society, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 95. One of his sons is the proprietor of Carroll Gardens.

wisdomskr, and flowerjen, very pretty!

hart, I didn't realize you had so many DL. I guess at your Swap it was too early to see any in bloom.
claypa, I have fleabane in the garden too. This year they're just shy of six feet tall--and in front of course. My stepM probably thinks I'm nuts. She comes to visit and always has to pull my lamb's quarter. I try to harvest some right before she comes. At least she noticed how the bees love my milkweed. (But I digress)...
Interesting note about Alex Summers and super hosta. That's breeding for you. Your shady garden looks great.

Hart I am loving the House of Orange.

Claypa I agree Alex summers hosta has a gorgeous flower. I really like the picture of your fleabane (great colors)

I got this monarda from a historic garden sale. The only thing they could tell me was it's not Jacob Cline. It is more pink than red. Anyone have an idea?
