We had them in our area in 2003 and then haven't seen them at all until this year. We live in a grove of mesquite and they are all over the trees. They just fly around and then clump on the branches with several bugs all together. They are fun to watch.

These are coming out in force in Green Valley, AZ - saw 6-8 dive bombing our patio table and frolicking in the bug light last night.

These things appeared today apparently out of nowhere. This tree is fairly well covered with the bugs on all the groups of bean pods. It appears that they are sucking the sap from the pods.
