This insect is the primary carrier of citrus greening disease, the most serious citrus disease in the world. The psyllid is merely a sap sipper like aphids but if it is infected with the bacterial disease it will kill citrus. The disease is incurable and has caused the Florida citrus industry to be in rapid decline. Consult your local agriculture officials re the status of the frantic fight against this insect and the disease it can transmit.
