We live on a tiny subtropical island in southwest Florida (The Charlotte Harbor National Estuary) that is surrounded by mangroves. My husband has been working hard to cultivate a Confederate jasmine vine that suprisingly turned out to be a popular nectar source for the Mangrove skipper.
The vine is easy to grow, hardy, produces sweet smelling, long lasting flowers that attract all manner of pollinators.
The butterflies would come to the vine, which is in full sun, every afternoon to nectar and fight.
