Host Plants: Many woody plants such as chinaberry, gale, grape, holly, ninebark, oak, viburnum and willow. Also eats common compposites such as aster, black-eyed susan, fleabane, joe-pye weed yarrow and as we see in the picture, zinnia.

The larva is highly variable in coloration.
