Comments regarding Accents for Home and Garden (Pepper's Greenhouse)

I ordered online Wed. morning, plants were delivered Friday afternoon. Plants arrived in perfect condition. I am very happy with the size, quality, and appearance of the plants I ordered, as well as the packaging. I will continue to order from them in the future.

I purchased streptosolen and was so pleased with the promptness of shipment and quality of plant. I recommend this seller and won't hesitate to buy from them again.

Very pleased - plants were sent when I requested - were packed well, Prices are reasonable and refund sent for plant and shipping for one not available. As I read some of the negative comments, I could not believe we had dealt with the same company.
I will order again.

I was very pleased at the beautiful, painstakingly packaged plants I received. The order was processed very quickly and the plants were nice sized and healthy. It was wonderful to find so many of the uncommon plants I was looking for in one place, since shipping is so expensive these days. The prices were great too!

HOWEVER, I can't leave a positive rating.

I was very disappointed to receive an email from PayPal (no communication from this seller) telling me that I had received a partial refund for an item that was not in stock. (Nice that they also refunded part of the shipping charge though.) This email was sent the day AFTER the order had shipped, thereby preventing me from having the option of cancelling the order. The plant that was not available was THE plant that I most wanted. (And there was no information as to whether this plant would be available again soon or not.)

Because of this, and now having read the negative feedback here, I am not sure if I will order from this vendor again. If I do, it will be with a lot of concern as to how the process will go.

I would not have these misgivings if the seller had just contacted me, before the order was shipped, to tell me the situation and give me the option of cancelling my order--and, in this case, I definitely would not have cancelled it.

i orderd a perfume tree last dec, they said not in stock,waiting for growth, well they did not have ready 6mon later, i i ask for a sub plant, they gladly sub a different plant, thanks for sending the plant fast, great service,and honest company,thanks for not adnoring my emails ,

Rude, poor customer service and 10 pitiful excuses of plants I received. I am going to contest the charge with paypal, screw their no return policy. I paid over $6 a piece for seedlings that couldnt possibly bloom for at least 2 or 3 seasons. This same plant (Golden Shrimp), I can get full-sized, WITH BLOOMS, from the local Calloways for 8.99, but they were not in yet, so I figured I would try Peppers. Folks, please do not order from these people, they are rude, and their product is inferior.

I ordered pelargoniums from three growers on the same day, with the intention of seeing which one provided the best plants, prices, shipping and service. To my pleasure, all three delivered healthy plants. The plants from Accent/Peppers were midsize of the three growers (one grower sent larger plants and one sent smaller) and their price was slightly higher. Their shipping was about the same amount as the other two. Their packaging was careful and the plants were in fine condition. I'm sure they will perform beautifully. I was a bit disappointed that one of the plants in my order was out of stock. I was not notified of this prior to shipping; there was just a small handwritten note inside the box that said, "Staghorn oak n/a - Refund to PayPal." When I checked my PayPal account, there was no refund posted, so I emailed and asked about it. They responded by processing the refund the same day. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase and I will consider Accent/Peppers for future purchases.

I've had two orders with this company. Both times plants looked good. Shipping was excellent and good communication.

I ordered 12 ferns from them. They were very well packed and in great condition. I will order from them again.

I'm not sure I will order again, unless it's something I can't find anywhere else. I ordered several tender herbs from this company, which were shipped to my midwest location during a period of below-freezing temperatures and snow [which had been forecasted well before the actual shipping date]. Also, this shipper sent my plants later in the week, which meant that they were left in an unheated postal depot over a weekend. Some of the plants were DOA, while others showed very definite signs of lack of water/light/exposure to freezing temps, but I think with a little care those will pull through. The owner did tell me to ship the plants "I didn't want" back for a refund, but, by the time I pay shipping, it won't be much of a refund. Buy with caution.

When packed and shipped the 4-5 day forecast was above freezing, weather changed slightly to 28-30 degrees, the plants did not freeze, but some were dry. Offered the buyer to return plants that were damaged for a refund, which will include all costs returning to me. I am waiting for the plants."

I ordered 4 Rue plants about and month or so ago, received them last week, just the right time since the ground is now workable. The plants were packaged very well, no dirt all over the place, they are a nice size, green and the soil was still wet. I am please with this company, easy ordering, and timely delivery.

I bought 6 Begonias and they are doing so well. They came packed with a heat pack in the dead of winter, didn't even lose a leaf. I normally would have killed begonias by now but I believe they are hardier and healthier coming from the north. I'm so happy with the plants and the company that I check their website first when wanting to order something.

I was searching for big leaf 4 inch silk pothoes and the man had them .so i ordered 3 plants and sent the money 25 dollors.when the box came i was shocked in this thin big box so thin i thought it might be a thin magazeen .i opened it and it was 3 tightly plants all so tight i could hardly take them out .when i finually got them out how terrible the plants were half cut from the plant fallen off from it being so tightly packed in a terrible packing.so tight that the plants were crushed and were not in 1 piece because of the packaging.i emailed him and told him but he didnt wan tto do anything.so in the pots 4 inch were the roots stuck in the pots and they were not in good shape and not nice i am very unhappy and if pepper green house was a good dealer with public he would make it right and send 3 more in a proper box as i am disabled and can not hardly go any were and i love plants and thought he would send plants in a proper box you wouldnt belive how thin and how he shouldnt of wrapped them in that package.i want my money back shipping and handling or 3 beautiful plants in a bigger box so they will be in good condition the plants werent.please help me and let others no im upset money doesnt come easy.he should make it right he was ruid

Before I ordered, I emailed some questions and all were answered promptly and completely. I ended up ordering four, different peperomias. They were out of one, and immediately issued a refund to my account. The other three arrived quickly and were packaged perfectly.

I am surprised by how big and healthy the plants are. They have many plants that are on my wish list, so I will certainly be back for future purchases.

I have been searching for a Tolmiea or 'Piggyback' plant for quite awhile. My local florist/nursery couldn't aquire one for me, for some reason. After reading the reviews, I decided to check out their available items. Turns out I ended up with 5 different plants! I placed my order 9/30, and rec'd it on 10/4. All plants were packaged carefully, no damage, great condition! Will keep this seller on my lists for future orders!

The plant I purchased was unavailable. I immediately received an e-mail offering a substitute or refund. I appreciated being given the option. I opted for the substitute, it was shipped promptly and arrived in great shape. This is my second experience with this company, the first was equally delightful. I will be back.

I ordered an ornamental grass from this company and I wish I hadn't. The plant arrived looking terrible brown and crispy and the soil was desert dry. When I e-mailed the company they responded with how hardy the plant is and they thought it would be fine. I have had the plant a month now (maybe more) and it is just now getting some green leaves. Yes, it is going to be fine, but it will probably take until next year to get it looking like it should. Apparently they neglect the plant because it can tolerate it, and spend their time doing something else.This is not right. If I had been informed I was ordering something that would look like death I wouldn't have paid the price plus shipping. I don't think I should have to wait so long for a plant to look decent. This was just a pathetic experience. Will not order from again.

This is my first time ordering from this company and they are fantastic! I placed an order the evening of 08/12/08 and received a quick reply confirming my order then received email on the 15th with the shipping information.

What surprised me even more was I received the plants on 08/18/08. WOW!!! They were packed quite well and are all in wonderful condition. Am extremely pleased with the plant sizes and root systems too. I will surely order from them in the future as their plants and service are wonderful.

We order two Silver Dollar Eucalyptus ,come in perfect condition.But four Violets ,come packed the pots in from of each other and the soil, from both pot ,dried ,smash the plants inside.The plants are in pieces.Of course ,not refund or exchange.Another order are Congo cockatoo,where we have received back order,but when you going to the web site ,their show their have 28 in stock.(???????????)

If you look closly to the inventory of Congo Cookatoo, you will find that is a (minus) figure (-28) showing that we are oversold by 28 plants. Our system will still take the order but it is showing you that you may have to wait or receive a refund. We strive to keep the numbers current, but with live plants, that can change daily as not all plants in a group are of shippable quality. If we feel the wait is long, we issue a refund."

I ordered a piggyback plant from this company. I received it only three days after I ordered it! It was packed beautifully and the plant was green and undamanged it was just perfect! I would order from this company again without hesitation!

I sent my money order last Tuesday 7/1/08, and received my plants in the mail yesterday 7/7/08.
Sure fast shipping! I sent emails, because this was my first mail order purchase...and, they were answered, in one to two word answers.....but, they were answered none the less.

My plants were in great shape when they arrived....and the prices can't be beat!!

Will be ordering from them again, until I have a reason to not order from them.

Excellent shopping experience! I've been looking for a String of Beads plant for months and finally found one here. They shipped it quickly and well packaged. I also ordered a Chenille Plant and a Ficus pumila Quercifolia (Oak leaved fig). All plants are healthy and ready to go. Thanks so much!

I just got an order from this company. I would not have ordered from them if I had looked here first, so I was pleasantly surprised when my plants arrived alive. They are small but seem to be healthy. They were mailed out on a Friday which surprised me because most places wait until Monday so they won't be left in a warehouse over the weekend. They were pretty dry but not wilted. The shipping was kind of pricey but not outrageous. I will order from them again. They have lots of unusual plants and the prices are good.

I too was hesitant on ordering because of the negative reports on this company but did order Spigelia Marlandica (Indian Pink) and received 8 very nice, healthy, and well developed plants. Each plant's pot was wrapped to prevent dehydration, were well packed, and shipped USPS - Priority. Until given good reason not to, I will order from this company again, without qualm.

i got the plants, ceropegii woodi variegated, rather rare....i did get a tracking number and was able to get them in time for them to be watered ..... as a result of them sending me the tracking number,,,,,,as they were very dry and soil had come out ,, so kudos to them for this. at one point i thought the transaction could have gone very bad, but they came through and made it a great transaction!!!

I purchased from this company thru EBAY, they took 10 days to contact me that it was being shippe and then shipped to wrong address, the ebay order shows my address but they are denying it, I printed off the order they ebay and sent that, i paid thru paypal and my address was correct there so they are jsut trying to come up with excuses.

It was purchased on 4/30/08 and paid for on 5/2/08 - shipped on 5/12/08 ( 10 days from payment ) which is not unreasonable during this period of heavy spring orders, especially during the week of Mother's Day. I was a little hesitant to purchase from this vendor based on some of the negative reviews, but they had good prices on a couple of things I wanted, so I placed a small order to give them a try. I ordered two begonia plants.

I promptly received an email receipt, and later received a status, and then a shipping notice. Plants arrived promptly and very well packaged. They appear quite healthy and in good shape. Being begonias (and I'm a newbie at them), if they don't make it, I expect it will be because of me and not them.

Based on this experience, I would certainly try them again next time they have something I am interested in.

I purchased 9 Kent Beauty Oregano from this company. When they arrive 2 of them were broken and browning due to poor packaging and cold weather. They still had some green on them and I tried to revive them unsuccessfully. When I emailed the company the response was, "sorry, but all were of equal quality when packed and shipped."
This is a totally unacceptable. It's my fault they they arrived in poor condition??? We pay exorbitant prices to have plants shipped they can at least arrive in good condition. I have never had a plant vendor be so irresponsible!!!

This order was placed on 2/19/2009 and it was shipped on 3/02/2008. The first complaint was sent to me by email on 4/07/2008. I should have been notified of damaged plants sooner than 30 days after arrival. "

Received my order, a very hard to find item, in not only top quality condition, brimming with good health, but in a very timely manner. Packing very professional with health of plant in transit obviously a foremost concern. I am very pleased with this company and they will receive the lion's share of my mail order business after this experience.

I received my plants so quickly I couldn't believe it and they are the healthiest I have seen in either local nurseries or purchased on line. I can't remember seeing plants as green and beautiful as these ever!! I would do business with these people in a heartbeat. They were packed so well that I don't believe a leaf was disturbed. Hooray for someone who cares about their business and the purchaser.

Small plants, which is okay for mail order. One of my plants was infested with spider mites though, which is not okay. Sprayed it after washing it off--will see how it does...

First time purchase from this company, and it was a good experience. I was pleased to see that their on-line catalog listed many houseplants that aren't seen much anymore.
I purchased two plants, a flame violet and a German ivy. Both plants were packed well, in a priority mail box with the stamp "Do not subject to extreme heat or cold." I am sure that means nothing, but at least they make the effort to warn shippers that the package must be handled with care. The plants were shipped on Monday, and today (Wednesday) they were dropped off at my door. (The package had to travel from Delaware to western Pennsylvania.) The German ivy was in good shape, compost still very moist. The flame violet was wilted, as the compost had dried out, though with a good soaking, the plant was back to normal in no time. I'll order from this company again, though probably in the late spring/early summer, when the temperatures outside are lower.

Even though the feedback wasn't great I decided to place an order. I got an email confirmation when the plants were shipped which was within a couple days. The plants I received were in great condition and much bigger than I expected. One of the plants I ordered wasn't available and they included a cash refund that was about $1.50 more than the cost of the plant. I just placed another order and hope I'm as satisfied as I was with the previous order.
