I bought one of the 2-tier seed-starting racks with the accompanying APS systems, along with a few odds and ends. Parts were shipped separately (which I hadn't quite expected, but made sense considering the size of my order), and came *very* quickly. The whole kit was in good shape and fairly easy to assemble. It was cheaper than some other kits I researched.

I will add that their website has been a useful resource and they generally come off as a personable company. Love looking through their catalogs and have no complaints. Would definitely order from them in the future.

I have ordered again from this company and once again, everything was perfect! I have nothing but respect for any company who CONSISTENLY have quality products and great service. It is a tough compination to maintain!! This order was the rubber tote buckets and more tomato (green) ladders. I of course am in love with the tomato ladders, but was simply amazed by those rubber 2 handle baskets/buckets that I ordered. I use them for everything, including mixing fertilizer, to drag around for weeding, for holding plants in good shape until I get them transplanted and much more. I can't wait to use them to harvest tomatoes!! But surprisingly, I use them indoor for laundy and to hold garden tools, gloves, boots, etc. until I go outside and take the whole thing with me. Then I just hose it out and it's ready to go again. An added bonus is the great colors!! Don't hesitate ordering them or anything else from this company!!!

I contacted Gardners Supply and told them of the problem with the edging(grass grows right through it). Never got a reply or explanation. They continue to send me advertisements via e-mail and catalogs, which I now have asked them to stop.Due to their poor customer service I will never place an order with them again.
On May 19th, 2007, rucereus changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

I am changing my rating to a neutral. After I received several advertisements and e-mailed Gardeners Supply to stop, I would not order anything from them again due to their poor customer service, they e-mailed me yesterday explaining that yes they had problems with their recycled mulch edging and they would credit my card the full price. Too late to win me back as a customer. If they knew they had a problem they should have taken the initiative to make things right. I shouldn't have had to e-mail them twice to get this resolved.

The one package I did not receive, I called on yesterday, April 10th, and asked if they had anymore information than what's on their website and was told someone would call me in 24 hours. Have ordered from them for several years. Last year I ordered 4 of the large terrazo planters. Hubby put 3 together and noticed one was missing the part that tells you when self watering tank is full. It wasn't something I'd complain about so I let it go. This year when he put the last one together it was missing one of the bottom panels. Since you can't use it without it I called....I thought they'd never believe me...but the planters are great so I had to try. SEVEN days later the part is in my hands (the leveler is also being shipped)! Haven't seen this kind of service EVER! Call me a customer forever!

I wrote and, despite my delay, they politely offered a replacement, a refund, or credit. Not every product a company sells will be perfect, but perfect customer service is rarer still.

They may be a bit pricier but, you get what you pay for. Good service, a staff that speaks English, great products. I can't recommend this company enough.

I called the company and talked to customer service. I was told they would replace the item, and I did not need to send anything back. My first experience with the company was falling head over heels for an enormous tumbling composter -- that was discontinued, but I took a chance that they might still have one at their outlet store -- we made the trip to the store in person, I had the photo and description from the website, and sure enough, they still had a few in the back! I was impressed that the staff knew their extensive merchandise line well and even made suggestions of items they had personally used. I bought several large and bulky items, that one of the staffers took out of the original packing and helped me pack into my small car (no easy feat)!

When I got home, I was the envy of my neighbors with the sturdiest tomato cages ever, the incredible HUGE composter and the tractor scoot! All of the items are very well-made, durable and easy to assemble, and the container booster mix they sell did wonders for my 30' by 2' brick planter. I had hoped to make another trip to the retail store and outlet a few weeks ago, but my plans changed... and that day a free shipping offer came by email-- I got to order the huge hose cart and several organic products -- on sale! What is the most amazing is that the items were ordered on Saturday and I had them delivered to me the following Wednesday!!!
Not nearly as much fun as a trip to Burlington VT in the springtime, but much easier on the car!
I HIGHLY recommend them and am glad to see them listed in the Top 30.

After 2 1/2 weeks of no package I called and spoke with a really nice customer service representative who assured me they'd re-ship the next day. And they did. Turns out UPS has messed up the original shipment and after they heard from Gardener's Supply they became very active in trying to locate that package. The Garderner's Supply re-shipment arrived only a few days after my call. So prompt! Ironically UPS finally located my original package - 2 months after shipment. Thanks Gardener's Supply!

As of March 27th I have not received the missing cotter pin or missing bolt and nut sets. I asked the name of the carrier and tracking number and got one of those "lost in the mail " stories.... I have lived in the SAME house for 26 years .... I also never got the hardware from the company that I called when I unpacked the firewood cart......guess that was "lost in the mail" too......

And in defense of the US Postal service I've never known a "lost in the mail story" that turned out to be true and I received the package that Gardener's Supply mailed to me on April 5th ....they mailed it March 10th ...... it arrived on schedule for the way it was shipped.

They seem to have most everything a gardener (or others) would need, want or crave. Once in a while I've had to call customer service, and have been pleased with the results. This is one of the very few places I would recommend because they are consistent with results.

I ordered the Garden Starters Greenhouse from this company and not only was the price good, the greenhouse was easy to assemble, and of quality construction. It comes with a 10 year guarantee, and some of my gardening friends that have seen it, or helped me assemble it are seriopusly thinking about buying one.
