We received a gift of 6 months of flowering bulbs. The first month was 3 amaryllis bulbs, which did not bloom although there were profuse leaves. I notified the company, and they extended the 6 months to 7. To me it seemed that the bulbs were rather small. For the other months it also seemed that the bulbs were much smaller than ones I would have tried to force (which I have done many times). Generally, the tulips performed poorly. There were too many months with tulips and hyacinths...a lack of variety even though hyacinths are a family favorite. Today we received the 7th month (the extra one), which again is tulips and hyacinths with a few other things, already in bloom in the box. In June one might expect something else, especially after having received tulips and hyacinths many times before. The gift is a tremendous idea, and it was always fun to get the well-packaged boxes, but my assessment is that the bulbs were not of superior quality and lacked variety. I found this site hoping to read other comments about this particular item, but I found none.

I've always been happy with Gardeners Supply Company. They have some very clever, useful and creatively imaginative items for those who like to make their gardens into works of art. I have always received good service from them. The one and only time they sent me the wrong product, they immediately rectified the situation, at no cost to me.

Their sturdy ribbed, interlocking edging pieces have proven very useful in partitioning off my slope with groundcovers from the rest of my beds, and also for keeping border rocks in place. Frost heave during winter will push these things out of the ground, eventually, but it's a simple matter to pound them back in when the ground softens, with the mallot I also ordered for that purpose.

I continue getting their catalog and enjoy looking through it. Right now, money is tight, so haven't been able to order anything recently..But I have always been satisfied whenever I've dealt with them.

They fill their orders correctly and the products are shipped promptly and everything is packed very securely. I appreciate they have an extensive 'review' section for each product because making purchases online can be tricky.

I order some bean towers that I was unable to find at the big box stores. I saw them on their website and read some of the reviews on their website. So I gave it a try. This is the second time I've ordered from them. They were quick to deliver and they sent me an email along each step of the way to keep me informed on the status of my order. Even a tracking number as well as they upgraded me to 2 day FexEx ground. I'm very happy with the service and product. Product was as described on their website. I would purchase from them again.

My only negative experience was with some tomatoe plant growing bags that attach to the deck. I followed the directions but the bags, soil and tomatoes turned out to be too heavy for my deck rail, which consequently, was damaged. I do not blame GSC for this. I just think that it was a new item and maybe it wasn't the best product. Overall, I think is a a great company with unique and quality items.

They were as good as their word, since the missing item was delivered to me two days later, and this on the day (a Saturday) after New Year's Day. I'm really impressed with this company and would highly recommend them.

My last order was this fall for more of their heavy duty wire cages/baskets for protecting hyacinth bulbs from gophers etc. They are not exactly a bargain, but these are the only ones that have lasted in the ground for 5 years or more since I don't dig my hyacinths or tulips up . Shipment was quick .

I have ordered twice from Gardener's. My first order was a bulb birch basket that I sent to my grandmother for Christmas - it had crocus, amaryllis, hyacinths. She LOVED it. She said everything bloomed and in succession as promised on the website.

I also ordered 10" raised bed corners and inline connectors. They were backordered for a little while, which I expected as I ordered them late in the season. When they arrived, two sets of my inline connectors were missing screws and caps. I emailed Gardener's on Saturday, they responded on Monday, and I received the parts on Thursday - now that's what I call service!

I HIGHLY recommend this company!

They even have a ratings system on their website where one can now rate their experience with various Gardener's Supply products. I signed up on their website for sales emails and often take advantage of free shipping offers.

I placed an order for APS systems for my mother and decided to get one of the "squash piggies" since they were on sale. The squash piggie didn't make it in the box with the rest of the items. When I called they were so very pleasant and helpful. Not only are they sending out my squash piggie but I was allowed to add on with no extra shipping charge! I immediatly added on some plant supports. After I hung up I remembered my mom wanted the Cobra Head tool that was on sale. I called back and got an equally pleasant and helpful woman. She very quickly was able to add on to the order and was happy to do it! I LOVE this company. They are so focused on good customer service.

I'm a frequent customer of Gardener's Supply because, frankly, they have great selection and I can get multiple things I'm looking for in one place. But I was rather perplexed when I placed an order, then placed another order a few days later using a coupon code for free shipping, and I received the second order in just a few days and the first order (for which I paid shipping) 11 days later. I wrote to the company asking for some explanation and saying that while I understand the second order was delivered within their 6-12 day range, I didn't understand how one order (for which I didn't even pay shipping) could come so quickly and another take so long. And frankly, shipping just shouldn't take 11 days when you are paying more than $10 for it. Unfortunately the response I received could have been generated by a computer. It didn't answer my question and instead told me that if I wanted my order sooner, I should pay for expedited shipping. That's the kind of thing that can turn me off of a company forever. I don't care if you don't need my business, it's nice to know that you at least appreciate it and it would have been nicer if they had actually taken the time to respond to my question. Oh well. I guess from now on I'll look for items at smaller merchants who have a better understanding of customer service.

This was my first order with this company. I ordered some Serenade and several other items. Unfortunately during shipping the cap to the Serenade shattered, and even though they had put a protective plastic bag around each item, the entire bottle of Serenade leaked all over the entire box leaving a smelly gooey mess. I e-mailed photos of the mess and quickly received an e-mail with an apology. They corrected the matter by sending out replacements at no charge within 2 days. Wonderful customer service!

I also get their catalog--If I have any complaints it's that they send their catalog too often. Anyway, my order was broken into several shipments, but it all arrived within 2 days. I ordered multiple items of the same thing and shipment arrived very quickly. Far sooner than expected. One of the items malfunctioned after a few weeks. The return/replacement was a piece of cake. Their simple pre-made labels for return are fantastic. The replacement was shipped out immediately when they received my return (all in about a week turnaround time). Fantastic! Other companies could certainly learn a few good things about customer service from these folks! Thank you!

I recently did some Christmas shopping online at the Gardener's Supply website. While shopping I noticed that several items were marked "out of stock." Every item I ordered was marked as still being in stock.

I placed my order and it was processed online. Several days later I receive an email informing me that two out of the three items were out of stock.

Why was this information not available on the website? I was sending the order directly to family. Now I am sending them a rather skimpy gift and it's now too late to cancel and order elsewhere.

This is not my idea of how a website should work. If I'm paying a premium price for both items and shipping (yes, you are higher than other vendors) I expect better service.

I wouldn't waste my time (or money) ordering from this company again, unless you enjoy being disappointed or disappointing others at Christmas.

I ordered/received beautiful and rather expensive lights only to find they had an engineering fault causing them to break. They sent a new item, newly engineered, free of charge with no cost of returning the orig. broken lights. Because they had to wait until the new was in stock it took some time and they kept in contact until I received to let me know they were still considering my order important. When I complimented, they said their policy was 100% customer satisfaction. Apparently this is not just a marketing ploy but a way of doing business.

When ordering a fertilizer or pest control that I can’t find locally I can count on them to have the item in stock if they say it is and ship it when they say they will. I can’t say their prices are always the lowest because they often are not but when my garden is suffering I know who to call. If paying a dollar or two more and paying for faster shipping will save my garden I’m more than happy to pony up as I’m sure every other serious gardener would.

I've ordered from Gardener's Supply a few times, and visited the store once. All experiences have been great. Orders shipped by mail are always delivered very quickly. The time I visited personally, I was looking for a fountain I had seen in the catalog. They were out of stock, but the offered me the display model at 50% of the price. It still works great - 3 years later.
