The plants (red currant, rosemary, rhubarb, potatoes) arrived all alive and very healthy. The red currant and rosemary came with moist soil and carefully wrapped in boxes. |

Seed germination was very good and I was glad to see that they carry some of the hard to find items that are the life blood for those like us that grow for a farmers market with customers that demand both quality and items different from what they could buy in the local supermarket. |

Everything was well packaged, clearly marked as to variety and instructions on how to store the plants if they can't be put out right away, along with clear planting instructions. They also threw in a couple of packets of seed for free with my order (1 flower and 1 lettuce mix). |
Positive | 33blacksheep (2 reviews) | On Apr 14, 2010, 33blacksheep Sparta, GA wrote: I ordered three plants, two of which arrived healthy. I notified the company that the third plant didn't live and today received three healthy replacements for the one plant that died. I had used Jung many years ago but, being unsure of current company policies, made only a minimum order. With such a positive response, I placed a much larger order & I am delighted their service remains outstanding. |

Good germination, accurate order fulfillment, and fast and reasonable shipping. I have changed my rating to positive because of this, but am still avoiding live plants. |

Instead of 20, there were only 19 crowns. Of the 19, five were too small to be considered 2 yr. crowns. I called customer service to report the problem and spoke with Carol. I was told that Jungs would be sending replacements. Today, March 30th, I received 10 crowns which are absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to plant them. This is great customer service and I will use Jungs again. |

Everything arrives healthy and well cared for. Their customer service matches their top of the line products. Last year I had great results from their Nanking Bush Cherries, Japanese tree lilac, hardy hibiscus, contorted filbert, red rhubarb etc etc! With their great plants and helpful customer service staff, you just can't go wrong. |
Positive | curlyjoe1967 (8 reviews) | On Feb 13, 2010, curlyjoe1967 Marshfield, WI wrote: I had the same problem as Dawn0007 did. I waited until the next day and called them. They said thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will change that for you right away. I said thanks and that was the end of the call. I really could see no reason to cancel my order. I've always had good service from Jungs. |
Positive | Zinnia1 (1 review) | On Feb 9, 2010, Zinnia1 Clinton Township, MI (Zone 5b) wrote: I have ordered from Jung's for 10 years and have always had a very positive experience. I received my 2010 order in 5 business days which surprised me because I ordered in late December and with the holidays, expected to wait longer. Two years ago I ordered one of their perennial garden packages. The plants were all extremely healthy, but small, most only in 3" pots. I planted them in the fall and was concerned they wouldn't make it through a harsh Michigan winter due to their size, but every one of them came up last year and I was surprised to see how large they got considering their petite size when planted. I am looking forward to seeing them this year! |

Positive | newday73 (5 reviews) | On Jan 30, 2010, newday73 Chesapeake, VA wrote: I recently ordered some flower seeds from Jung's because I wanted seeds for the Millenial Hybrid delplhiniums from New Zealand without having to buy expensive plants. I also ordered some snapdragons and foxglove, all of which I will start indoors and transplant in the spring. I had no problems ordering, and they sent me a nice catalog which is always good to see. The seed packets arrived within a few days, nicely packaged with ample instructions on them. I am very interested in the delplhiniums as they are hard to grow here in Tidewater Virginia, because of the high heat and humidity in the summer. However, the Millenial hybrids are supposed to be more heat and humidity tolerant. I will let you know in a later post of the outcome, especially for those who live in the south with high humidity. |
Positive | kwri81 (2 reviews) | On Aug 14, 2009, kwri81 Bloomington, NY wrote: My parents have been using Jung Seed Co for a long time and I have used them for the past two years. I've had great success each year with the sugary hybrid cherry tomato as well as the filet green bean. Each tomato plant yields huge amounts of fruit and the beans do well even in our acidic soil. I've been very happy with the results of all of the seeds I have tried. |
Positive | mrdavidtx (1 review) | On Aug 8, 2009, mrdavidtx Brenham, TX wrote: I ordered seeds for my fall garden along with the peat pots that come in sets of 12. I only received one set of pots instead of 12. I called Jung and they sent the remainder within a week. Their mistake, but they handled it well. Seeds, so far, are doing well. Haven't planted all varieties yet. |

Positive | kimkats417 (2 reviews) | On Jul 8, 2009, kimkats417 Bennet, NE wrote: I have ordered seeds from Jung for several years and have been very pleased with their service and products. I ordered a bittersweet plant with my order this year, and it arrived looking very good. I planted it and it grew for a bit then just mysteriously wilted over and bit the big one! :( I emailed them about it, and they promptly and courteously gave me credit for it! Since I'm already plannign a fall order from them, this will come in handy. Very happy with the company and their business practices. Will continue to be a customer for years to come! |
Positive | phdler (22 reviews) | On Jun 20, 2009, phdler Homer, NY wrote: Not the best packing and shipping (Plants arrived dried out, out of their pots, and in a jumble but only one was in really bad shape - and they promptly replaced it with a healthy plant) Once plants recovered from that, they picked up and seem happy. SIze was as expected - not extraordinary but not sub-par either. I ordered VERY early from them yet the one thing I wanted most was out-of-stock. If they had notified me sooner I might have been able to find a replacement but none were left at other plant sites by the time I got the order and found out. Their customer service is what pushed this rating from a neutral to a positive. If plants are doing well next spring, I would consider ordering from them again, but if it is something I really want, I'd probably look elsewhere. |

Positive | ejeski (3 reviews) | On Jun 9, 2009, ejeski Lombard, IL wrote: First let me say that at 40 years old I have been ordering from this company for 33 years - first through a relative and then myself. I live just outside Chicago and need a "Northern" gardening supply company - Southern/Eastern ones often cater to their customers in their zone or a warmer one. I am truly shocked at some of the negative feedback for this company. |
Positive | nygardener2 (12 reviews) | On May 20, 2009, nygardener2 New Hyde Park, NY wrote: Great service and my order looked great. Trees are big at 5-6ft the roses are from weeks roses. The small beries and plants are well loved and full of life. The bulbs are also great. My seeds have 100% germ rate as well. A very happy first timer. A five star rating+++++ |
Positive | markgeer (2 reviews) | On May 20, 2009, markgeer Byron Center, MI wrote: This was my second year of ordering from Jung. Last year I ordered only seeds and some (delicious) "Candy" onion sets that did very well in my Michigan garden. This year I also ordered some berry plants (black raspberries and a blueberry bush. The seeds came promptly (mid-March). The plants and onion sets did not arrive until a month later (mid-April) which was later than I was hoping for the onions, but I was very pleased with the plants. I received four raspberry plants in place of the pack of three I ordered. They were small (about 4 inches) but had swelling buds. They all have nice leaves now. I was really pleased with the blueberry bush. It had multiple shoots up to 18" and swelling buds. It was very well-wrapped in plastic with moist newspaper. It now has beautiful blossoms and leaves. Overall, I'm pleased with Jung Seeds and will likely order from them again. |

My potato tubers came right on time and were healthy and ready to plant, the seeds I've gotten have done well, and the orders are shipped in a reasonable amount of time. Free seed packets included! I'm very happy this year, and will continue to order from Jung in the future. The only suggestion I have is that they increase the selection a little bit (hint?)! |
Positive | Pupula (7 reviews) | On Apr 16, 2009, Pupula Greenwich, CT wrote: I happened upon them by asking my mom where she would buy plants and she told me she liked this nursery in WI, it took her hours to remember the name of it as my mother has an established garden and rarely goes to nurseries any longer, she also gets all my plant divisions and plants I don't like. I am so happy she remembered! After getting their first order everything was healthy and beautiful and grew immediately. So this spring I ordered again. I received a dwarf lilac and an unusual clematis, both are healthy and happy in my garden as I write this. Also I ordered tons of seeds so I am just waiting to plant them but have no fear Jung is great! Timely and beautiful quality. |

Positive | gfm (13 reviews) | On Apr 9, 2009, gfm Melrose, MA wrote: I ordered 2 Paw Paw trees from Jung a couple weeks ago. A couple days after placing the order I realized that I could save some money by purchasing them as a collection rather than individually. I sent customer service an e-mail asking if it would be possible to switch the order. Within two days I had the money credited back to my credit card. I received the order about one week later. The trees were well packed and in excellent health. I especially like the trial seeds they packed with the order. I look forward to ordering from Jung again. |
Positive | sharonmi (3 reviews) | On Mar 30, 2009, sharonmi Westland, MI (Zone 6a) wrote: Ordered from Jungs for the first time this year. I've always ordered from pinetree and park seed in the past, but have been getting very poor germination rates from their seeds in recent years (this year is no better). So, I bought more from Jung and less from the others, and I have to say I'm quite satisfied with their seeds, and will be ordering from them from now on.. Please don't go downhill like the others have, Jung. |

Positive | Amita (3 reviews) | On Mar 20, 2009, Amita Richmond, MA wrote: I ordered for the first time this year, on March 6. I was afraid that my order would be delayed because I was so late, but on March 18 I received my seeds. They were packed very well, in a plastic bag inside a small sturdy box. I noticed that one packet was labelled as being "overfilled" because the germination rate was low, and I appreciate that. Three full packets of free seeds were included, even though I had only ordered about $10 worth of seeds. |

Positive | HoneybeeNC (2 reviews) | On Mar 18, 2009, HoneybeeNC Charlotte, NC (Zone 7b) wrote: I ordered Candy Hybrid (both white and red) onion plants back in January, and they arrived last Saturday. I was so pleased with them that I wanted to share the good experience with y'all! Each little onion was plump, and the roots were white with no dead brown ones. Jung had left about three inches or so of green tops on each onion, so I didn't have to worry about where each onion was after it was planted. They are now all lined-up like little soldiers in their garden bed and I just KNOW they are going to do well. Thanks, Jung! |

I've also been impressed with this company's dedication to supporting gardeners, as they regularly offer to give (unpaid) seminars for our master gardener's organization. |

Positive | mersiepoo (7 reviews) | On Feb 11, 2009, mersiepoo New Freeport, PA wrote: I've ordered from Jung seeds for probably 10 years now. Anytime I have had a problem they always solved it for me or sent me a new plant. They have the most awesome lilacs and send healthy fully rooted plants that survive and thrive, even in our bad clay soil. The only problem I have had is with irises not being true to name, I had ordered 'brides halo' and gotten a blue iris, and a black game cock was not that, it was some sort of silvery blue iris (which I grew to love anyway). But, other than that they have a great company and they really are serious about their service. I just wish they would sell more varieties of own root roses. They took off Paul's Himalayan musk, and I was ready to order it this year. |
