Just received my order from Jung's - 150 strawberry plants ( 6 different varieties) and 2 rhubarb roots (Victoria). Everything was well packaged, clearly marked as to variety and instructions on how to store the plants if they can't be put out right away, along with clear planting instructions. They also threw in a couple of packets of seed for free with my order (1 flower and 1 lettuce mix).

I inspected the plants - as the paperwork from Jung's instructs - and they're all in great shape. No mold, smashed plants, broken roots,etc. Everything's just fine.

This is the correct time for them to ship to my area. No complaints at all from me! Great transaction.

I have been pleased with the seeds I have ordered from Jung's, but have had mixed results with plants/bulbs. All orders have come quickly, but on two occasions now I received the wrong plant order. In each case the plants I did received retailed for much higher than what I ordered and worked fine where I had planned to plant, so I did not call them about it. However, in reviewing my 2004 seed/plant orders from all companies, I found that I never received some lily bulbs ordered from Jung's. Too late now I'm sure, but I will still call them about it. I doubt I will order any plants or bulbs from Jung's in the future, but may still order seed if I can't find an alternative sources for what I want.

On 3/25/10, I received the 2yr. old crowns. Instead of 20, there were only 19 crowns. Of the 19, five were too small to be considered 2 yr. crowns. I called customer service to report the problem and spoke with Carol. I was told that Jungs would be sending replacements. Today, March 30th, I received 10 crowns which are absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to plant them. This is great customer service and I will use Jungs again.

I have ordered from Jung's for 10 years and have always had a very positive experience. I received my 2010 order in 5 business days which surprised me because I ordered in late December and with the holidays, expected to wait longer. Two years ago I ordered one of their perennial garden packages. The plants were all extremely healthy, but small, most only in 3" pots. I planted them in the fall and was concerned they wouldn't make it through a harsh Michigan winter due to their size, but every one of them came up last year and I was surprised to see how large they got considering their petite size when planted. I am looking forward to seeing them this year!

The seed packets arrived within a few days, nicely packaged with ample instructions on them. I am very interested in the delplhiniums as they are hard to grow here in Tidewater Virginia, because of the high heat and humidity in the summer. However, the Millenial hybrids are supposed to be more heat and humidity tolerant. I will let you know in a later post of the outcome, especially for those who live in the south with high humidity.

I have ordered from the best nurseries - Song Sparrow - related to the Klehm family and now in Wisconsin, as well other great companies like White Flower Farm, Wayside Gardens and Harris Seeds. (I dont think customer service gets better when these guys enter your market - I think you struggle to reduce costs and remain competitive with them.)

That said, I want to say I was SHOCKED at the recent handling of a problem I had with a Plum tree I ordered and received (in record time) two weeks ago. (I should add that I have had much luck with their products over the many years so I assumed everything would be perfect with this order...as it always had been in the years before.)

The tree had been wrapped for shipping at the nursery (does anybody think they grow EVERYTHING they sell???) and it's lower limb had been tied too tightly and the branch tore down the trunk of the tree about four inches. The tear was very deep and I wondered how I could save the tree and still get some plums from it. I rethought the idea when I read that the heavy weight from fruit might break the limb and it was better not to fix it.

I called their customer help line - asked them to replace it - the rep asked a few questions asked me to hold to ask a supervisor a question and quickly jumped back on the line to say that they would expedite a replacement plum tree. Two business days later there was an even better looking tree for my yard without any problems.

One note - Jung sells many "bare-root" plants - no matter what nursery ships them they usually look TERRIBLE in the package. If you're not a master gardener - DONT BUY BARE-ROOT PERENNIALS! They are harder to plant correctly and make thrive. (I have a tough time judging the depth of where the plant should be planted!) Even being a good gardener, not to mention growing up on a farm, I AVOID them as much as possible! (The ones I have bought from Jungs have been of the same quality as any other nursery I have ordered from.)

This year I also ordered some berry plants (black raspberries and a blueberry bush. The seeds came promptly (mid-March). I received four raspberry plants in place of the pack of three I ordered. They were small (about 4 inches) but had swelling buds. They all have nice leaves now. I was really pleased with the blueberry bush. It had multiple shoots up to 18" and swelling buds. It was very well-wrapped in plastic with moist newspaper. It now has beautiful blossoms and leaves. Overall, I'm pleased with Jung Seeds and will likely order from them again.

Asparagus roots were mostly large and strong, though about 10% seemed undersized.

All things considered, i'm pleased. I will be more careful specifying a ship date in future orders.

I've always ordered from pinetree and park seed in the past, but have been getting very poor germination rates from their seeds in recent years (this year is no better). So, I bought more from Jung and less from the others, and I have to say I'm quite satisfied with their seeds, and will be ordering from them from now on.. Please don't go downhill like the others have, Jung.

I placed my order on March 7th and received it on March 18th. Since many suppliers are being hit with a deluge of new customers and increased demand this year, I expected a short shipping delay. I don't think 11 days was too long to wait for my seed and starting supplies, especially since my order was placed over the weekend.

My order was packed well, shipped in full, and included free gifts that I wasn't expecting. The seeds that I have sown so far are germinating very well. I have no complaints.

I ordered Candy Hybrid (both white and red) onion plants back in January, and they arrived last Saturday. I was so pleased with them that I wanted to share the good experience with y'all! Each little onion was plump, and the roots were white with no dead brown ones. Jung had left about three inches or so of green tops on each onion, so I didn't have to worry about where each onion was after it was planted. They are now all lined-up like little soldiers in their garden bed and I just KNOW they are going to do well. Thanks, Jung!

As this was to be my first time ordering seeds via mail order I looked around the GW and settled on Jung's for a few reasons including their proximity to me and their overall good reviews. I've also been impressed with this company's dedication to supporting gardeners, as they regularly offer to give (unpaid) seminars for our master gardener's organization.

I have to say I was not at all disappointed. Their online catalog was full of all the detail I needed, the seeds came quickly (well before I need them), there are a lot of seeds in each pack and they all appear fresh. I feel confident that I'll have success with them.

I also got three packs of sample seeds as a bonus. What a nice gesture. All were packed in a small box so there was no worry of crushing or damage.

I'm thrilled. I'll be back to Jung's again.

They have the most awesome lilacs and send healthy fully rooted plants that survive and thrive, even in our bad clay soil. The only problem I have had is with irises not being true to name, I had ordered 'brides halo' and gotten a blue iris, and a black game cock was not that, it was some sort of silvery blue iris (which I grew to love anyway). But, other than that they have a great company and they really are serious about their service. I just wish they would sell more varieties of own root roses. They took off Paul's Himalayan musk, and I was ready to order it this year.
