I ordered "hot pepper mix" seeds and had a 90% germination rate. The woodland flower mix and toad lily combos came bare root with some growth on them. They could have chosen a better time to ship rather then in the middle of a frigid cold snap here in ohio but...since I had them shipped to my office nothing was frozen it would have been bad if they had to sit outside my house in 20 below weather. Will get them planted as soon as I can and let people know the growth rates.
All in all pretty postitive I got what I paid for.

My family and I have been ordering from Jung Seed Co. for many years. We have always received good, strong nursery stock. When we did have a problem, all we had to do was call within the guaranteed time and we would have our items replaced if still availabe that year, the following spring or receive a credit letter. I would like to say that a few comments below this one, someone stated that "he" would have to pay shipping again when he placed an order with his credit letter. That is incorrect. If you plan on ordering the same thing that the credit letter was issued for it is considered a replacement and you do not pay the shipping charge. If you order something different, you should have to pay shipping because it would not be considered a replacement. This is a good company who strives on making customers happy. I will continue to order from Jungs and their affiliated companies for many years to come! Happy 100!!!

I really do not understand the oppobrium that has been heaped on this company on this website. I have dealt with them for a very long time. They have a good selection of seeds and the germination is always pretty good. (Some of their seeds, mostly in the area of perennials, needs cold treatment before planting; this is explained on the packet and if the instructions aren't followed, then the gardener is the one at fault, not the supplier.) As far as nursery stock, I have gotten some very nice roses and small fruits from them. The one time that I had a failure, they promptly issued a credit.

This is a good, ethical company that supplies quality products

This last spring was the first time we have ordered plants as well as seed from Jung's. The Nanking cherry bushes were very impressive with good roots and tops. The Hansa and Frau Dagmar Hartopp roses were also in good shape, although we did worry about the latter one for awhile. Eventually it did leaf out and bloomed off and on all summer in spite of drought conditions. In 2007 we are looking forward to adding more roses and other bushes from them.

I have done business with Jung Seed Co. since the early 1950s in Maryland when I ordered and planted 3 white birch. The trees are enormous both in height and girth. During the last few years I have planted their seeds in
Plymouth, MA using gro lights with great satisfaction. When they discover that the germination per cent is poor they provide extra packets. Providing this service with 8 other companies is not easy. I respect their integrety. Green_Survivor

I just visited the Outlet store in Randolph,WI, for the second time, and what a treat it was!! I have always gotten top grade plants and seeds thru the mail order. It is my favorite seed catalog. Visiting the store is quite a fun experience. They are very helpful, knowledgable and nice as can be. I only had one time when I had to write because my strawberries that I planted in fall did not come up in spring and they were replaced with better ones. I could not have been happier. I give them the highest rating possible.

This is the first time I ordered from Jung Seed and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered Roses & Glads and both have done wonderful. The roses did start off very slow, but are now bigger and better than others I planted at the same time. in fact, i thought ine had died, called customer service and they sent out a replacement right away. both roses ended up living and both are blooming like crazy. the customer serevice rep was so pleasant, we ended up e-mailing each other back & forth about gardening. Will definately buy from them again in the future.

I recieved an order this Spring of trees and shrubs. Though they sent bareroot stock the merchandise was good size for the price I paid and looked good and green and healthy. I soaked their roots in a bucket of water for a day and then gave each shrub & tree a good helping of dry peatmoss, manure and triple super phosphate in their hole along with a good drink. They are doing quite well and are statring to take off. I have ordered from Jung before and will continue to do so. Remember to give your plants a million dollar hole with lots of nutrients & water. :)

I've placed two orders with Jung Seed in the past six months, one for seeds only and one for seeds and plants (2 thornless blackberries and a batch of 25 Ozark beauty strawberries). My seed orders always arrived promptly, and my live plants were shipped at the appropriate time for my zone (9).

I've had very good germination rates with the seeds from this company--flowers and vegetables--and was pleased with the bonus seed packs they included with my order.

The Chester and Triple Crown blackberries arrived in bareroot condition, but one of them was already starting to show new leaf growth by the time I put them into water to soak overnight. They were a bit smaller than I expected--single canes that were under 12" not counting their roots--but both plants are now thriving and threatening to take over my garden with no special coddling or care from me besides regular watering.

Only 11 of the 25 strawberries made it, but this was my fault. I didn't realize that the brown paper packaging around what I thought were the rootballs of my blackberries actually contained my order of strawberries, so the poor things didn't get put into the refrigerator for three days. By the time I had a chance to plant them, quite a few had gone moldy. The surviving plants are very healthy and, like the blackberries, are spreading like crazy via runners. I've already gotten berries from several of the plants.

I definitely wouldn't hesitate to purchase from the company again, though I'll be sure to check all mysterious brown paper packing materials for hidden plants in the future!

Received my order from Jung's . Everything nicely packed and in good shape and surprisingly decent size for mail order plants. Everything in the ground and appears to be doing well. Emailed the company when I noticed one of the shooting stars was missing from the 3 pack. They immediately sent me a whole new 3 pack replacement. I am confident if anything fails to thrive they will make good on it. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them again, and most likely will.

I have ordered several times from this company (2 new home landscapes with them). I received my spring order yesterday....a little later than I expected but the plants are healthy and were nicely packed. I called today to ask about one of the backorder items - the customer service was unbelievably polite and accommodating. I also inquired about 2 items I ordered and planted last spring that did not come up. She told me replacements would be sent immediately. Of all the other items I planted last year from them, they are coming up wonderfully. I especially like the fact that you can inform them if you will be out of town/on vacation for a period of time and THEY WILL ACCOMMODATE SHIPPING such that your plants aren't sitting in a box on your porch dying while you're away.

Great company. I would order from them anytime.

I live in Stevens Point, WI, where Jung's has a large outlet store/nursey. During the winter their nursery is full of tropicals, I of course, love their citrus trees. And in spring they 'have a great Bareroot room. They have shade, ornamental and fruit trees, shrubs, roses and small fruits. All species that can live in our area. Most of the employees that have worked there for some times really know there stuff and I know them pretty well. I've never ordered through the mail with them until thsi spring and still havent recieved that shipment. But everything I get from the store is great quality. I've never had an issue with quality with Jung's.

I have never ordered plants from this company but I have ordered annual seeds and have had good results.

They offer a reasonable selection of seeds that are well priced and are generous with their packets. I am especially impressed with the Wave Petunia seeds because of how carefully they package the pelleted seeds - not a single one was damaged!

The Cosmic series Cosmos bloomed the entire summer last year and were a snap to grow - lots of compliments on the mass of blooms.

The germination rates have been great - often better than seeds that I have bought from more expensive companies.

I will continue to buy seeds from this company.

This is the first year I ordered from Jungs. I have to say so far It's been very positive. Recently, I purchased 2 sets of tomato cages, my order came and the box was damaged. The prongs were damaged as well, I e-mailed them. No questions asked, they told me to discard the damaged ones, and they would re-ship no charge. I've had no problem with their customer service.

I would recommend, although most of my orders have only been hard goods, no plants so far. I would also like to add, their response time is GREAT!

This was my fault, but it shows that Jung will go that extra mile for their customers. I purchased a number of fruit trees this year, and one did not survive. Things were very hectic, and I did not get around to reporting it until today (mid December).

I had forgotten that Jung's replacement warrantee must be reported by October 1 - something I was not too fond of, and something that I was unknowingly about to get stung by.

Jung's Customer Service still replaced the tree with no coercion from me. They were pleasant and turned what could have been an ugly confrontation into a positive experience. They reminded me of their warrantee policy. I'm sure I will return the respect they gave to me (by calling within their warrantee period) should the need to replace a plant arise again.

Good old Jung Seed! I have ordered from a lot of nurseries over the years, and these guys always do right by me. I ordered their lilac collection this year and the plants just arrived. They are wonderful. They are bare root, covered in leaf buds just waiting to burst open, and have stems that are bigger around than a pencil on all eight varieties. I got much smaller plants for more money at other places. On the occasions when I have had a plant fail, Jung is excellent about issuing a letter of credit, no questions asked. I know they have had some inconsistencies in the past, but I have always gotten very nice plants and outstanding service. Thank you Jung!
