Exactly one year ago to date, my husband ordered the Ebb Tide rose for me from Jung's. He wanted it to arrive on valentines day. It was a day early but wonderfully packed and very nicely pruned. I was outside taking pictures today, and I just felt like I had to compliment someone.

I live in florida so it's lovely here right now and my rose has no less then 14 full beautiful flowers covering it. Just mounds and mounds of deep rich purple roses.....sigh.....

So to all those husbands out there...get one of these from Jungs. We are talking MAJOR brownie points people!

With over an acre of flower gardens to tend and plant, I tend to be a bit busy. Now that the frost is on the ground I can take the time to praise Jung on my order. I start a lot of annual plants from seed in my greenhouse, and I expect good germination rates. With Jung I got 100% this year. When you spend over $3 on a packet of 15 seeds, you want 15 plants! and that is exactly what I got.

My internet order was sent out very quickly last spring. I will be looking forward to this years catalog as I will be ordering from them again

I received my order today that I placed last week over the internet. All of the Irises are very healthy and I do look forward to planting them tomorrow. I have been ordering from Jungs for over 5 years and still get great service from them. Keep up the good work!

On March 31st, 2009, Rhizomes123 added the following:

I got the rest of my order this month (mid-March). It consisted of potatoes and onion sets which were on backorder. Later (about 2-days), I got the package of peanuts that were also on backorder. As usual, all of the plant material was received in excellent condition and packaged very well. My only concern is that I did not know where some of my items were and since I start most of my plants from seed, timing is very important.

It would be a good idea if Jungs would give the purchaser more information as to when they will be receiving their plant material if and when it is backordered. Maybe a feature can be placed on their website that helps to track purchase orders and to give buyers a general idea of when their items on backorder will be shipped. Another suggestion is to send a postcard or email similar to how the Mailorder Nurseries used to do years ago.

Other than this, everything was good. Thanks for the free garden seeds!

The Jung Seed catalog has a pretty good assortment of vegetables and fruits and thorough descriptions. We chose it over several others.

Customer Service Rep. was very friendly and had answers for all of my questions. She also called me back immediately after realizing that she forgot to get my e-mail address for a printable receipt.

The live plants and seeds arrived in about half the time they quoted, which was great except that I wasn't completely ready for them. Everything went into the fridge for a little while and all plants are now doing great in the soil.

We've planted hundreds of seeds this year (neighborhood garden) and the indoor germination rate is excellent. The seedlings are hardening off very nicely and once they are big enough to transplant, I expect them to thrive as well.

In all, our cost was about $110 and it should grow what we need for the next couple seasons, plus canning and a little extra for the farmer's market. Not a bad price at all.

I have ordered from Jung's before and have always been pleased with the quality of the plants I received. This year my order arrived on a cold/crappy day in early April, which is a bit early to plant in my zone 4 area. The plants were all in good shape (lilacs, roses, daylilies, clematis etc.) but now I had to "deal with them" until planting time. This has been an unusually long winter/spring, but April 9 is a bit early for plants to arrive in this zone. If the plants hadn't been so nice, I would have registered a neutral comment. I guess that it is better to have the plants than to wait until summer when it is more stressful to transplant. I will order from them again.

I admit I was wary about Jung's because I had read a negative comment on Dave's Garden. My experience has been absolutely POSITIVE. I ordered a number of items from them recently - seeds and plants. One of the plants - a clematis - arrived looking like it was at death's door. I notified them immediately and was contacted by Lori of customer service who replied that they would replace the plant. I have since notified her that replacement isn't necessary because the plant actually did revive when put under grow light for a week and now has some new green growth. I am very happy both with the quality -- all the other plants were exceptionally healthy looking -- and the customer service. Thanks Jung! You have a customer for life!

But I could have just sent in the order form completely fill out as well. I started my pepers, tomatos, cukes, and squash inside they all came up with vigor rather quickly, and that is really the important part right! Over all positive experience!

I have to say I am very pleased with this company. I ordered 3 bareroot poppies- 2 were nice but one was dried up. I just was not sure there was life in that one. I contacted the company through email- I received my replacement root today. That quick. The replacement was very acceptable, nice fleshy root.

Except for some problems a few years ago with mushy poppy roots (the company seemed to have been having some 'growing pains', now apparently resolved), I LOVE Jung and only order from them. I order every year and have had no problems since then. Jung has a wonderful collection of plants and many that are very unique, at a good price! This year I ordered my veggie seeds and some more trees. The only suggestion that I would make is that they find a more durable way to ship the trees (currently in long paper sleeves) as they sometimes get snapped off in transit, and that is so disappointing to green-starved northern customer. :-) However, I understand that that might cost a little more. Could we have the option of paying a little more? One more thing...the customer service people are always very polite and patient at Jung. As I said, Jung is on good paper with me!

I purchased several apple trees last year from Jung Seed and was very pleased with the quality and root system of the trees ( not all chopped off like at some other companies from which I have purchased in the past - and will not again ) I initially purchased 2 different 5 in 1 apples trees, their Heirloom assortment and their Easy Care assortment and one of the trees arrived with one variety branch broken off.at the trunk. When I reported this a repacement tree was sent to me without any question . These trees have been growing very well and I am very satisfied with these trees ( as an aside, the branch crotch angles are more acute than I like for several of the branch - but overall these trees are better than most mulibudded trees I have received-I think it is just the way trees are multibudded or grafted commercially at the growers. In the future I will be doing my own grafting and/or budding but have ordered several of these trees to "get things going "until I have time to do so). Anyway , getting back to Jung Seeds I would not hesitate to place an addtional order with this company . I am waiting for the catalog but have not yet received it , hopefully will be coming soon.

I was a little nervous about ordering from this company based on the feedback left here. I heavily rely on other customers experiences when choosing whom I will order from. I placed a very large order with this company last year and couldn't have been happier! Jungs sent double on an item in which the germination test was not to their standards. Therefore I planted them double in each hole. Big mistake! There was definitely not a germination problem with this item. I ordered three varieties of sweet corn; Seneca Daybreak, Krispy King, and Holiday. This was the best corn I have ever tasted! And the roses (the free roses no less) - was I ever pleased with them. I lost all of my roses from a late hard freeze and I was so happy when I planted these and they immediately took off! Wonderful! Thank you for a pleasant experience!

I have ordered from Jung Seed several times over the years and had always been pleased with my transactions with them until I called to order a replacement for a plant that had died. The CSR told me abruptly that the replacement time period for my plant had already expired. When I reminded her that I had till June 1, 2008 to get it replaced she did finally agree that I was correct and to her credit, she apologized. The CSR told me to wait a moment. Then, a little later on, a second woman came on the phone and told me that I had already had this plant replaced with something else. I was really bewildered and my feelings were severely hurt by the tone of her voice toward me and how she talked at me. I truly felt like she was insinuating that I was a would-be thief. After a seemingly long drawn out explanation to her that she was apparently confusing this replacement request with a previous one she finally agreed that I was indeed due a replacement for my plant and that one would be sent to me, but she did not apologize to me. I sincerely hope that they will indeed send my replacement plant to me, and I do believe that they will do so and I am looking for it in the mail, but I will never shop with or buy anything from Jung Seed again, and not because they don't have good products, because they do have good and excellent products, but because of the humiliating conduct of the CSR toward me. There are far too many other places where I can spend my money that will treat me with the courtesy and respect that I deserve.

In early spring of 2006, I ordered two Ramblin' Red roses from Jung Seed. They arrived bareroot, and I planted them according to the directions. Last spring was the second season that I had ordered from Jung's. Their prices have not been the cheapest of all the catalogs I get each winter, but the prices have been fair.; especially considering the quality of the products that I have gotten (mostly roses and bulbs).

And for the first time last spring, I had to call them about a rose that failed to come out of dormancy. The call only lasted a minute, and I barely had time to explain myself, when they told me that they would immediately ship a replacement. The next one that arrived was much larger than I had expected, and bloomed beautifully in its first season.

Jung had the own root Fire Meidiland groundcover rose that I wanted, but couldn't find elsewhere. It also had Fru Dagmar Hartopp, a rugosa rose that is never available locally, and not that readily available by mail order either. When I placed the order, the lady on the other end was super-friendly. It was great to deal with a person, and not have to be on hold or press a bunch of buttons. The roses arrived within a few weeks. Both had had their roots trimmed for shipment, so they weren't as large as some bare root roses you can get. Plus they were wrapped in moist peat and plastic, but the plastic wasn't tied off or taped up, so it came loose within the box and the peat had dried up. With a little care, the plants could have been a lot more moist. However, prior to planting a bare root rose, you soak it in a tub overnight, so that helps a great deal. Anyway, both varieties of rose have broken dormancy and grown very well. Both have bloomed nicely as well and are starting to branch out structurally. Great roses for a great price, I would definitely order again.

PS: I ordered their Jung Centennial Cookbook too, which is an awesome retro-styled book with wonderful recipes. Highly recommended!

Well, whether or not that's true, I didn't receive it.
However, they said they would immediately ship the order again, and I got the trees three days later. Unfortunately, they forgot the hydrangeas, and they took two more followup phone calls, but they got here within two weeks of my first call.
So, customer service is great, but you have to do your own followup and check with them for status.
As for the plants, even though I obviously got the leftovers at the end of the planting season (late May), the quality was actually better than I expected.
