Summer Lilies Part 9

A white NOID sent as a freebie - it's huge!

Who sent you a NOID? If it's not Casa Blanca, it's darn close. :)

Beautiful lilies, everyone!

Ripon, WI(Zone 4a)

Hi Moby,

I believe it was B&D that sent the NOID. It was one of those "our choice free" bulbs but it was not named. I thought it might be Casa Blanca too but the flowers are much larger than my other Casa Blancas.

Could it be "Obession Oriental"? The blossoms on mine are very large and just blooming now.

Finally found my pictures, so I can post. I need some one to ding around on this computer so it works like it should.

Also 'Siberia' has a very large bloom.

Yes, I believe it's Siberia. Thank you Pixie!

Maxine, Obsession has a pink blush which mine doesn't have - very pretty!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

This is " Obsession O." in another locations. I can't figure out why one has a pink cast and the other is a pure white. Very large blossoms on both.

Maxine, beautiful clump. Do yours multiply well or did you start with quite a few bulbs? My Orientals don't seem to multiply much here.

Pixie, gorgeous combination!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

I have had the one clump there for perhaps 5 yrs. or more. Generally start with 3 bulbs, and yes, orientals do not multiply very fast here also.

Just had a wonderful time getting caught up here and feeling very sad that things are slowing down..... Just 'cause it's so quiet, here's my Black Beauty contribution, looking storm battered.

And Henryi...

A few stragglers still hanging on here. Bergamo is at the end of her show, and I've been very pleasantly surprised with the coloring of the blooms in their current location. At my old place in the woods, where there was partial shade everywhere, they were very pastel. But now they're in full sun, getting the brunt of the hot evening sun, and show much more intense coloring. I sort of expected the opposite to be true.

I've forgotten the name of this one. Seems like it used to be pretty common, but I didn't see it in the few sources I've checked so far. Any ideas?

I'm still waiting for my last two lilies...

Scheherazade - only a few blooms remain...

Maybe 'Tom Pouce' gemini? I get that one and one other one mixed up.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Could it be 'Marco Polo" ? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/72563/

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

That's the other one I get it confused with...IT IS 'Marco Polo' Thanks Pixie!

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

I think 'Marco Polo' might just be it, I looked real hard at it when I was perusing plantfiles. Thanks pixie and mags. I just got 'Tom Pouce' this spring, and it seems to show a lot more yellow.

Still a few henryi blooms hanging on out in the butterfly garden, but other than that it looks like the only one I'm waiting to see is speciocum rubrum. Oh, and the Formosas I started last year from seed have buds, almost forgot those. I had no idea they were such late bloomers. I think I need to look for some more season extenders.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

This Radiance was planted very late and only has 2 blooms, but they sure are pretty ones.

Yes, it is a pretty one!

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

'Radiance' is nice lincoln.

It's waaay too quiet around here already. What? No more lilies? It just can't be.

Here's 'White Bud'

How about a nice strong stem of 'Starfighter'?

One from the 'Silver Elegance' strain, the lighting isn't too good at 2 in the afternoon, but oh well ;)

And 'Lamb's Blood'

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Those are all pretty!

Ripon, WI(Zone 4a)

Lamb's Blood is more pink than I thought it would be - I expected more red. But they're all just beautiful! Really like Silver Elegance.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm thinking 'Silver Elegance' would look nice next to my 'Lavender Gem' and they seem to bloom at the same time. I'm always trying to picture combos in my head, color wise it's easy....bloom wise can be tricky!

This is a new one I just planted this spring and I already can't read the tag!

Quoting:
I'm always trying to picture combos in my head,

Unlike most people, I'm never trying to picture combos. Is that the mark of a collector fundamentalist?

Well, that would be me.

Saint Bonifacius, MN(Zone 4a)

Silver Elegance has the measles. LOL

Re: Magnolia's comment...It's waaay too quiet around here already. What? No more lilies? It just can't be.

I still have bunches in bloom and about 6-8 more to still open...IF it ever stops %4#%$*#* raining so the poor things will open and I can go out to take pics...

Ya know...this one area in drought and too high temps when other areas have had continual rain for weeks with too cold temps makes me think.Mother Nature needs to take her happy pills (aka hormone replacement therapy) and mellow out...Is anyone living in that happy medium with "nice" temps and "just enough" rain???

Poland, ME

Too much rain here! Pictures aren't worth the time right now

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

p.s. measles work for me, just in this case ;)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

'Lamb's Blood' is in full scorching sun and really does well still.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7a)

Mine are done and I missed getting a photo of the new Satin Slippers blooms (bought the bulbs from Brent & Becky's end of season sale in May). I couldn't believe they bloomed this year since they were planted late. They were only about 18 inches tall or so but the tiny little turks caps were so cute:) I'm going to have to get more turk's cap types.

Deer Lodge, MT(Zone 4a)

Tango Halloween Lily....very fragrant!
