Everyone's lilies are so beautiful! Threads like this series are precisely why I can't stop buying more:lol: I finally counted the co-op lilies I've got coming...65 bulbs:LOL: And I plan to place my first order with Buggycrazy this year;) I see a few plants getting their eviction notices in a month or so!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Black Beauty didn't do much for bme the first 2 years, but has really taken off this year. It's about 6 ft. tall.

CountryGardens, that white one is lovely. So are all the Orientals.

gemini_sage im glad you like the lilies but I do have a confession....the phlox was planted to accent Conca d' Or but im glad it worked with SS too!

pixie, while that phlox looks so pretty with San Souci because of how well it matches, its looks lovely with Conca d'Or because of the stunning contrast! I love the contrast in forms of lilies and phlox- a perfect combo, IMHO. I like Orientals with Hydrangeas for the same reason, and finally got to see my white 'Helvitia' lilies bloom behind and with a Hydrangea this year. I didn't acidify my soil enough, so the blue and white combo I was going for ended up being piinky-lavender and white.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My Hydrangea was supposed to be this color.....

But this is the color it came out.....guess I have acidic soil!

Whats the difference between Beauty Rose and Black Beauty?
Is BR lighter than BB?

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Casual observance: larger flowers, not as tightly recurved, and lighter in color.

Now seeing them side by side...I feel foolish! lol Thanks for pointing that out as I always wondered what the difference was.

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Pixie, when you asked the ?, I said to myself what IS the difference and went out and picked one of each to compare. I was shocked at the difference when I had them side by side! Never feel foolish........................well, if you do there are so many of us in the same boat you sure won't be lonely!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Oh my Sue, that Beauty Rose is one gorgeous lily. Where did you purchase it, if I may ask?

Every one's lilies are so much eye candy, its hard to pick a favorite one.

Ripon, WI(Zone 4a)

Love your San Souci and Angelique. How tall does Angelique get?

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Lilyfan, thanks for that comparison shot. It proves to me I "need" Beauty Rose, LOL. Thats a buggycrazy beauty isn't it?

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Beauty Rose was purchased from Buggy.

Now you have to understand that my BB is having a hard time this year with the constantly wet soil and cooler than normal temps. It is about 3 foot this year and was 6 foot last year! I'm assuming the flowers are just a bit smaller than normal.

My 1 Angelique is about 14 inches tall, the other is 3inches and you can't even find it in the pot of laurentia!

I don't usually pick my blooms, but in this case I wanted a good closeup of the papillae on 'Louise'

My BB is pitiful this year too, because of the freeze last year in April that literally "nipped them in the bud". I'm just glad they returned. 2 of the spindly stalks had a single bloom on each.

Saint Bonifacius, MN(Zone 4a)

lBetween Black Beauty and Beauty Rose, I think you will find a difference in foliage too, both the leaf itself and the aspect at which it is held.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thank you for the info everyone, it is much appreciated.
Angelique is betweeb 10-12" here, every stem carries 3-5 blooms at least...to me that is amazing.
