Summer Lilies 2008 Part 7

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Thread 6 was getting slow, so......time for a new thread. We came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/875745/

This little beauty is Crymsyn from Buggycrazy. This was a fully double bloom, all the rest were singles.

Royal Highness is blooming with a soft peach cast.

My Boogie Woogie didn't have a strong scent as reported by Faraway Flowers. They've all bloomed now, so I don't think I'm going to get the pink border. Could be the greenhouse treatment is what it needs. I'm going to check with John Scheepers where I bought it and tell them I don't think I got the right bulb, just to see what they say.

Nothing ventured....nothing gained.

I've got to get ahold of a few of my vendors and tell them they sent the wrong lilies, only problem is they are Canadian Co.s, be interesting to see how they handle it.

jmorth, what an incredible picture of Beauty Rose.

note to self: try some night shots.

Beauty Rose Tower - Is that one that only grows in zone 5?
I am 4b and I don't want to spend $ on something that won't do well.
Anybody else in 4b that grows some of the more exotic kinds?

'Pink Jazz'

So many of the oriental pictures don't look the way the pictures show. 'Nostalgia' was shown with a pretty light pink (in the northwest climate), I have it in higher shade, hoping to preserve some of the color and I must say, I really like how it turned out. Not as much pink as the picture, but nice nonetheless. The size of the flower is very large too.

And if you've never grown 'Nymph', you will love it, I promise. It's just adorable.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

'Pink Jazz' is really nice...looks like a trumpet. Speaking of Trumpets......does anyone know what this is? It's my G.daughters and she wants a name. LOL

This is 'Tropical Isle' the bloom is so heavy the poor thing keeps tipping over. I finally had to stake it!

'Tropical Isle' has that nice pink edging that sets off the yellow so nicely.

'Pink Jazz' is actually an OT.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I keep having to look at Crymsyn, Snowberry and Tropical Isle....oh my!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

I just love this virtual garden!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Great shot Pixie! I just happen to have a pot of Centerfold that I need to plant, now I know where I'm going to put them. :) Thanks!!! :)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Your very welcome but really... THANK YOU both for the lovely comments.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Great combination! I have Landini and now I am going to have to order Centerfold. So nice to know they bloom at the same time.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

That is a great looking combo...of course I would need to get both of those.... hmmmm.

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Great lilies as always mags. For a 'beginner' you have a vast collection.

pixie, great combo, gives me a few ideas!. Try taking a look at the Golden Splendor line of trumpets. I'm not that familiar with trumpets, but it will be a place to start.

nanny, that combo is reason enough to have to buy more lilies.........so what if you need to buy both of them ^_^

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh lilyfan I sooo agree!!

Saint Bonifacius, MN(Zone 4a)

Purple Reign is very similar to Centerfold, but with darker brush marks. I think it would be an even better companion with Landini.
