Okay, I chose to post this rather poor picture I took tonight of 'Touching'. But as you can see (hopefully) they do look different. Shockingly different (couldn't resist. hee hee.)

Maxine,
Elodie is an Asiatic and I found this on it:

"Unique is that the bulb should be planted just below the soil surface."

I have been so bad about not planting lilies deep enough and before I got educated by people here - I probably DID plant it shallow. WandasFlowers told me Elodie didn't do well in her garden so now I want to ask her if she knew it should be planted shallow. Interesting

Pixie, we have a very high water table in our yard and we go through a lot of freeze-thaw cycles during the winter. It is really hard on the orientals for me.

Here are Ebony and Landini, Ebony in front.

Edit: had wrong picture

Has anyone else noticed the splotches on their Ebony? It is planted in a pot and I just carried it over to Landini for a comparison shot. In the strong light I can see splotches. I just got these from Faraway in the co-op.

Those are two different lilies?? They look identical to me except for a slight difference in the shape of the stigma.

I haven't noticed any splotchs but I got my Ebony last year.

I've been away for six days and catching up here my eyes are spinning. Such beauty and lusciousness.

Came home to White Henryi. 5 very small bulbs planted last fall. If I'd come home a couple days later I would have missed them entirely. Can't wait till next year....

Also, this stand of Scheherezade opened while I was away and I can't take my eyes off'em. Had no choice but to plant them against this fence in part shade, but the trellis comes in handy for supporting them.

I had Scheherezade at my old house...debating about getting it again. It is so pretty once it gets going!

A NOID...I have not ordered anything like this...I have a feeling it is another one that I got from The Bulb Crate (now defunct) that was the wrong lily.

Gloriana looks like a dainty one. Like the color. Here is the one I got that was suppose to be American Style. popgeo thought maybe it was Sarabande. I am wondering if it might be Super Nova, only because Jung catalog, which is where it came from is now selling Super Nova along with the American Style collection and it does look a lot like this one.
