Summer Lilies 2008 Pt.6

Orangeburg, SC

I thought I only wanted dayliles but man these pictures are georgus. Where is the lowest prices on some of these I can find? They dont have to be fancy versions since I dont have any But I would love a start. They are truely breathtaking. If anyone is interested I have a really nice Dr. Suess Brugmansia I could trade for a few starts. I like the taller varities of these liles. No color preferences since I am just starting. I just love jaw dropping flowers and all of you and your pictures have made me do just that!.Brandy

I think you can get Red Velvet from Old House Gardens. I'm not sure, but I think Yehudith has a co-op going on there at the moment...

Also the Lily Garden.

That Queen Strain from Buggy is stunning!!

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Love those Queenies from Buggy. And 'Big Red', I should get that one, coming from the Go Big Red Badger State. It's lovely.

What a grove you have there jmorth. Do you let yours multiply or do you start with a bunch and from that bunch get a bunch more? I usually end up getting one or two of the same (okay, I admittedly go crazy for a few of my favorites and buy a whole host of those) and if they expand, it's exciting, if not, that's okay too. yours look great. It must be quite a sight to behold.. 'july Mint' seems like a must have ;)

Beautiful, beautiful.....

Popgeo, welcome to the forum. Gosh, you are a prolific grower!

Toronto, ON(Zone 5b)

Hi Lincolnitess,

That is NOT american style, it is more likely Sarabande. I got the same thing unfortunately but american style is all red and recurved. And it is more a cherry red. I bought big bunch of what was supposed to be American style.. and NONE was american style. Luckily bloomingbulb.com accepted that this was not American Style and issued a refund.
Ladies and Gentlemen here is a champ this year....Lilium Henry, I think it is bigger than 7 feet, probably 8 and a lot of buds

Ahh.. very nice inflorescence there popgeo.

Divernon, IL(Zone 5b)

magnolialover - many start out with 3 or 5 but then again, many have started with singles; the Muscadets pictured recently started with multiples but the Touching began years ago with one (if my memory serves me right).

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Ticker, love your pardies. It looks like you have a red form of it, like I do (some are more orange colored). I really like your Pink Giant, too. Need to put that one on my list.

Andebu, Norway

This one is new for me. I got it from a friend with a lot of special lilies. Don`t know its name.
