Summer Lilies 2008 Pt.6

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

The other thread was getting a little long...and we don't want to lose anybody! We came from here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/873856/

My Silk Road was planted very late this spring so it is very small and just 1 flower...but I was soo thrilled to see it. I have wanted it for quite a while now!

Silk Road is a beauty, I need to order me one!

'Elodie' is looking more like a double today.

Nanny, could it be Corrida? :)

I was out wandering tonight, I wander a lot, but I do have something to show for it. ;)

Ticker, your speciosum album and Skyline trumpet look the same. It's definitely not Lilium speciosum var. album. WWWaaaaaaaayyy to early for that anyway. My L. speciosum var. rubrum buds are the size of a large pea right now.

Urandi She got a little beat up with the rain...

All very pretty!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Hmmmmmm, it does doesn't it.. I'll have to go out and look closer... I got them both from Buggy, so... I know those Speciosum Album were huge bulbs last fall.. I wasn't sure if I had enough in me to dig a hole big enough to plant them....

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Lefty, you are absolutely correct. It's not Speciosum Album, but that is what it is marked and so I'll have to see of Speciosum Album shows up anywhere else... Thank you for letting me know... I'd have probably went on thinking it was really neat and different. ;) LOL

Ok, here is Lavender Frost.. (I hope) :)

This is supposed to be Garden Pleasure

This is supposed to be Boogie Woogie and I'm not the least bit impressed with it. Mags warned me, but did I listen, noooooooooooooooooo.. Oh well, maybe as she matures as a bulb she'll show some better coloring..

That indeed is 'Lavender Frost'. Just love it ;)

Altaville, from Faraway Flowers... It is truly lovely.. :)

I really think 'Boogie Woogie' needs something I don't have...cooler weather? More acidic soil? Who knows? It *looks* like it has such promise. Lol!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

I've been waiting for this last one, Cecil. It's had a couple blooms on it, but they seemed to always get beat up, so, finally a good bloom. It's a sweet lily..

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Yeah, well, maybe I didn't get one of the better ones from the gene pool.. I might have to get one from someone else to see if that is the difference..

This is just a nice garden shot of Satisfaction and Altaville.. :)

Nnnniiiiice.

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Thanks Mags, those little drumstick alliums seem to like being mixed in the lilies.. :) Ok, I'm off to play cards and forage for food in the wilderness, not necessarily in that order... :)

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7a)

That is a beautiful photo Ticker:) I'm just starting to get into alliums so just to verify...that type is just drumstick allium? Looks really good with your lilies:)

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

pixie,
Does this look like yours? It is called Corrida.

Thanks, and yeppers, it's a drumstick.. If you look closely at the one just next to the yellow lily you'll notice a bumble bee on it. :) I like bumbles...

A veritable feast for the eyes this morning!

Ticker ~ when it's warm and the air is still, stick your nose in Cecil and tell me if it has a scent.
