(*wiping tear*) the day my irises bestowed on me a profound affirmation that yes, even I can grow irises and at long last, Behold! .... they bloomed altogether here in Louisville's merriest month, and to show my gratitude I humbly present to you .... (*snif snif*) my first iris slideshow.

part of the big bed where the above ground pool used to be.
This was the bed before the tons of sand & lime ( used to prevent roots from growing up & puncturing the pool liner...) had to be removed with bobcats by the many dump trucks full.
Now back to pretty.

Everyone's a Maiden around here, it's a whole maiden season this year, so I guess each one's a bonus since none are guaranteed to bloom the first year. Under the auspices of DG Iris experts/ lovers however, they got a good shot & a good start.
mine were the same way soulja, mostly first year growth..what a blessing!
